I've been playing gene tag with Leopard in the Treasure Marketplace for the last two days... it's like playing spot the leopard and I am clearly inadequate for this challenge because it keeps evading me and just shh why can't it stay in one place like a good kitten so I can snag it.

How long have you had to wait for a gene - or anything, for that matter - to show up in the Treasure Marketplace?

The only time I was looking for something, it was a underbelly gene.

I gave up.

I had to wait so long for blend (modern) to show up in the marketplace last week that I just bought it off the auction house @-@ (it turned out to be cheaper anyway since the seller had a dom discount...)

Make sure to use the Search feature! That's how I finally snagged Swirl for my obelisk.

So far my longest wait was a day for Secondary Gene: Paint. I'm still on the hunt for some clothes because my new dragons clearly needed flowerfalls and starsilks.


If you want to avoid the looking-around part of the challenge, the game database displays the availability of marketplace items. Refresh the page every 5 min and it's bound to show up as "Available Now!" eventually.

@Azulops | Ouf - I'm sorry to hear that. Sometimes it feel like it's the one time you actually need something it just somehow doesn't stock... though I know that isn't how it actually works, haha (;_;)


@brightmyth | Smart !! I almost always check the AH - just in case. I checked it this morning but it's been a few hours since I looked... figured it probably wouldn't have changed in price on there too much since then, considering I hadn't seen it in the MP yet. Think it was above the MP value, which is why I didn't snag it. But that's a good point - I'll hop over to the AH to check again just in case - never know!


@MaplesHaiku | Woohoo - I always use the search feature since it's become available. It's so nice to have, I used to feel like I was going crazy scrolling through everything and frantically trying to read the item names.

I was in the same position just a few hour ago, but got super lucky and finally managed to snag a jaguar gene. I feel your pain tho, the spots are gone in the blink of an eye for sure...

Aaaaa I had to do this with the lionfish gene once

Currently trying to nab a modern jaguar, I have not seen one yet. those ah prices are absolutely crazy right now
Was taunted with a banescale one though.
