Hex Gaoler/Obelisk/Veilspun Visual Guide
Obelisks may be modern breeds with no unique genes of their own, but some genes look unique on them compared to other moderns. Most of them involve the thick, curly mane giving unusual patterns to secondary genes.

Is there any demand for visual gene guides devoted to just the obelisk variant of those genes? I'll make them if people would like to see those genes in every color on obelisks.
Here's some candidates I've found when looking across every modern gene.

Runes

The runes emerging from the feet markings are a lot thicker and directly connected, unlike all other breeds
Spines

Unusually, Spines runs all the way down the nose, unlike all other breeds
Genes off the table
I'd include Iridescent/Shimmer because they are abnormally glossy on obelisks, but my Iridescent/Shimmer guide already has obelisks in all colors.

Some of the unique looking variants, such as Lionfish/Noxtide, Starmap/Constellation and Filigree are just bugged so I don't want to do those.
What do you guys think? Are any of these genes particularly compelling? If you find any of the primary/secondary combinations interesting, should I leave the primary gene basic so people can focus on the lush mane, the main attraction?
I love how most of the genes are bigger and just more visible on them. And god I also love how some effect the mane, its perfect. Poison/Toxin and Jaguar/Rosette looks amazinggg

@Shisa for additional reference, i think you should look at gaolers! the mane effects per gene pair up between the two breeds :D

@hotcakes Oh, gaolers have some unusual and nifty combinations for sure! (Looking at you, Hex!) But this breed's extremely thick and curly mane takes it to the next level.

@Shisa right? plus they have all genes
i was just musing that thought since i have.. well, over 60 gaolers and i've seen it all

@hotcakes I think when obelisk Hex is fixed, I'll do a hex guide for veilspun, gaolers, and obelisks since their pattern is much looser and resembles a chocolate chip cookie more than a giraffe. But I've got to wait on that.

I would be interested in one for Thylacine! They have quite a neat effect on the mane as well as being slightly transparent! @Lixue Good idea. I went to go check comparison images of how Thylacine looks on all breeds, and no other breeds display it like obelisks do. Gaolers also have an unusual effect with transparency in the mane. Perhaps I should do a guide for the two of them. @hotcakes I should just leave the primary gene Basic to focus on the unusual Hex pattern, right?
