ok so a weird thing just happened, and I don't know what do so I'm posting here...

I just had a FR user suddenly send me some CRs with items from my wish list. They pm'd me complimenting my lair and as I was so grateful we had some friendly exchange, asking how each other were and FR goals and such. However, they soon asked me whether I wanted to communicate outside FR. I thought it was harmless so I added them on Discord (I have met and chatted with many lovely FR users on Discord before). However, I went AFK for a while and the pms and discord messages just wouldn't stop. I felt uncomfortable and let them know that I wasn't looking to make more online friends and only wanted to talk about flight rising. But they insisted that they "cared" about me and thought I was a wonderful person, despite never speaking to me before this incident. Needless to say I blocked them on both platforms and returned all the gifts.

Has this ever happened to anyone else before? My gut tells me that this person may have malicious intentions as when I refused to discuss matters other than FR they said that they would "wait for me" and whether giving me a free sprite would help...

I apologize if this doesn't belong in this forum! I just don't know what to do :(

This definitely falls outside of normal behavior, @Radiance. This is stalker-type stuff that you see from predators, but the good news is that you recognize the potential threat. Cut off this person and report them, I would recommend.

Absolutely do not engage with this person any further no matter how hard they try to push you to, and if possible report them on FR. I don't know if any action can be taken from this necessarily, but I think it's worth a report.

i'd say just keep them blocked, and it's a good idea to report them, especially if they escalate the situation any further. spamming someone like that, and showering them in compliments and gifts is definitely a red flag.

i suspect this thread is gonna vanish quick so take to heart what you're reading here, and definitely follow what everyone else is saying here. be careful when adding people you don't know, and follow your gut when it says something is wrong.

thank you so much for your replies and for validating my experience, I'm quite scared now even though I blocked them on both platforms. Since I blocked them on FR I don't think I can report them from the profile? Or is there another help ticket/reporting form I can use? :o

Not to me but something a little similar happened to my friend who just wanted to commission someone! I can't help but feel bad for the other person, but yeah, it can be a bit uncomfy. Especially when you tell them you just want to talk about FR. Stay safe!!

Great call disengaging, OP! I'm sorry this happened to you in the first place, I hope you're feeling alright. Sounds like you've cut them off and, by making this thread, are helping make sure bad things don't happen to others :)
