TOPIC | FR 10th anniv wish (bad suggestion?)
1 2 3
(EDIT: The forums delete bug strikes again! Can't delete this topic to move it to suggestions. I didn't intend to officially suggest this anyway so if a mod sees it feel free to delete it for me.)

Aight this is probably a bad suggestion but I wanted to share it anyway.
After FR's 10th anniversary, they should implement a 10-year abandoned account termination. Any account that has seen no logins or any activity in 10 years will be terminated, thus freeing up the username, weeding out inactive userbase, and managing the community.
I think it's pretty safe to say that after A LITERAL DECADE, the person is not coming back.
To solve some problems, I would propose some extra steps:
-kickstarter backer accounts are safe/have priviledge and will never be terminated. Nobody who paid actual money to have their account should have it locked, in the extremely unlikely event that they come back.
-any irreplaceable retired items in that account are made note of and the equivalent items in an equivalent ammount should be put in a Roundsey raffle eventually, as to reinsert those items into the economy and account for the one that was now deleted. (KS items not included as backer accounts are never terminated)
-old forum post under their name (which at this point are 10 year old topics) will remain visible, and have image replaced by the default profile picture and [deleted] added under their username, in the same spot where staff denominators are.

Aight this is all I can think of. I genuinely think it's a good measure, but please go on ahead and diss me. Or add onto the pile with more suggestions, idk.

first of all, this should probably be in the suggestions forum. secondly... I dunno, it just seems kind of... pointless? usernames, I guess, but that doesn't really seem that important to me? Like, I guess someone would want to have a specific username that a dead account has, but there are better ways to handle that. For example, I wanted the username Spooky, but a dead account had that name, so I couldn't have it. I just added an x to it. it's not that big of a deal.

It just seems super pointless to me. Usernames is kind of unimportant, and what's really the point in "weeding out inactive userbase"? I don't know. I'll go with no support.

@xSpooky yeah it came out way more suggestions-forum-y than I thougt. Originally didn't think it was worth making an actual topic there as it's just a stupid idea but I kept building on it and it came out pretty fleshed out :P
Not sure if I should delete/redo, leave it here because I still don't think it'sthat serious, or wait for a mod to move. Hm.

honestly i would actually really like this. More retired items going into roundsey, more usernames freed up.

what about their dragons 0w0
If they have a G1 Imp would we have a G1 Imp in Roundsey
Or a Imp scroll...
I wonder how many tickets would there be in total if there was

Seconding on that this belongs in the suggestions forums.

If an old player with nostalgia to the game returns to find that their account was basically deleted, all of their items would be gone, their username taken(stolen), and ALL of their dragons all exalted/rehomed by staff via roundsey (which even then they'd never get that dragon back in a million years)..

That'd be enough to make a majority of older-returning players to not even try to touch the game again. This would be a highly destructive way of "re-entering items into the economy" and "clearing up usernames" and I don't support it.

I don’t think people’s accounts should be touched under any circumstances. What if, for example, it’s the account of someone who’s passed away and their family member/SO still plays and looks at their account as a kind of memorial? I can’t imagine how horrible it would be to see a dear friends or family members dragons or items sent off to random people- especially if they worked so hard on it before they passed.
Idk about you but I’d be really uncomfortable with getting a dragon that was meant to be a memorial to something/someone.

There’s also the chance that they could come back. Just recently I started up my old webkinz account again, despite not playing on it for who knows how long.

Or maybe the accounts with no progens / only progens should be deleted, bc they have barely started the game, it opens up more usernames, and if they want to come back, they can just sign in again, no harm done.

[/quote] I'll have to say no, even if it's an obvious throwaway account or alt account. I have some qualms, accidental crossfire could happen where staff accidentally delete the wrong account/ an account that wasn't a multiaccouting. Not to mention this process could eat up staff time that could be better spent on updates/ other things.
