I put the asterisk in the title because it's less about merging two dragon breeds together and more like, well, how you imagine some dragons of mixed parentage to look like. The lore states that naturally a dragon hatches as a specific species, but I think it's said somewhere that their traits may be slightly influenced by another breed in their bloodline.
For an example, say you have a Pearlcatcher and a Skydancer that have a nest together, and one of their eggs hatches as a Skydancer, but maybe their antennae are longer to reference the long whiskers of a Pearlcatcher or they have longer tufts of feathers by their elbows similar to how Pearlcatchers have fur in the same areas.
For another example, say you got a Bogsneak and a Fae together, and the Fae offspring has a forked tongue and maybe a slightly bulkier body.
However, even if someone already did a specific breed combo, you can still headcanon otherwise!
Have fun!

I like to think that some Fae with non Fae lineage have some ability to modulate their tone of voice, whether or not they utilize this ability I think would depend on how they are raised.
I have a Fae, Calyx, who can change his tone of voice, but has trained himself to keep monotone when speaking because he lived among only other Fae.

My Imperial Rosella is an Imp/Guardian hybrid. She's the daughter of my Imperial Relicster, and she came to be through a breeding challenge!

LunarTwist (hope it's okay to ping!) Is running a 100-hatchling challenge with her Guardian lady Vitali, and somehow Rosella beat the odds and popped out of a two-egg nest as an Imp! 3% chance, and I couldn't be happier :)
She mostly looks like an Imperial and carries the same unfortunate legacy, but she inherited a slightly heftier and more thickly-scaled body from her mother's side, as well as a very intense protective instinct, particularly over her dad, half-sis and cousin from a few gens down.
I'd share links/images, but I'm on mobile+in time-crunch.

Hey no worries about the ping! I love being pulled here and there to see what cool stuff is going on!
That's a pretty cool headcanon too, and I love how her art reflects that!)
Personally, outside my 100 Hatchling Challenge, I've never been big into the breeding side of FR, so I've never really dedicated lore to a child of my dragons. And the dragons I breed I let the adopter have all the headcanon lore they want. But that's a really neat idea for the dragons I DO have - a lot of them have mixed parents. Gives me some ideas for their final lore and designs!
