Flight Rising Discussion

So usually for me, events like this are big money-makers. Every NOTN I spend nearly every waking moment grinding and selling to give me the funds to splurge the rest of the year. And in flight events, I make it my goal to get a few of each thing so I can invest over the next few years and sell them for high prices further down the line. I was hoping Warrior’s Way could be lucrative like NOTN is, but it really isn’t.

There’s nothing valuable in the chests, like the eggs and breed changes from NOTN. There could have been elemental eggs in those chests, or eggs from the new ancient that was teased in the WW announcement, or it would make PERFECT sense to occasionally find Eliminates in there, but no. It’s only the familiars and scenes and such, and there’s so few of those that everyone’s going to get bored after a day or so after they’ve gotten everything twice over and stop buying chests. Some of the familiars aren’t even high-quality, anyway; I just saw the post about how weird the sphynxes are and I completely agree. And because of all of that, chests sell for next to nothing, whereas I always make a massive profit off selling chests during NOTN.

I also always sell all the NOTN drops that you could trade in to Swipp for chests, but that feature isn’t in this event and there’s really not anything to replace that.
There aren’t enough cool new things to have me jumping in excitement like a giddy kid in a candy store, and there isn’t a way to make money for the things I’ve wanted for ages either. Anyone else struggling a bit?

I'm having a really good time leveling and exalting fodder thanks to the 50% exp boost - the chest drops are just a bonus incentive for me :)

I love that they added the 50% exp boost shortly after they released the event, finally i feel like i make progress leveling my team, i just reached level 15 with my 3 coli dragons!

I don’t think the intention for this event was to create another NotN— Warrior’s Way reminds me more of the micro holidays. You can still make a massive profit on NotN, no one is taking that away from you

it sounds like you are just complaining about not being able to make money....

This is only the first year of this event, and it seems like the staff have more plans for it in the future (the mentioned trade in shop). Maybe that teased ancient will be in next year's pool, or maybe it will be something else valuable.

Not really, I'm pretty content with what we've got, for the first year of a new event. I understand what you're feeling, but none of those things bother me too much. I don't think every event needs to be an opportunity to Make Big Bucks, nor does every even need to be something you actively have to engage with constantly for a week in order to make the most out of it. I burnt out on grinding a little bit during the last fest, so honestly I don't mind the idea of getting everything WW has to offer after just a few days.

I certainly wouldn't mind if they added more valuable items to the event in years to come. A unique gene for the event would be particularly interesting to me, since I just like the idea of their being more genes like smirch which you can't get all the time. But at the same time, I would be fine if we only got new apparel/familiars/scenes and stuff like this year. It's different, but it's fine.

Edit: oh yeah, and the EXP boost! That's a really nice aspect too. I know I said I was burnt out on grinding, but I intend to take at least a little advantage of that, since I have some dragons to level.

I enjoy the event-just wish I’d have a reason to continue grinding after I have all the fams and apparel so I can enjoy it longer than a day or two.
