Are there any genes you'd consider dead/dying? Like you rarely see them anymore.

For me, I don't really see any eye spots or contour dragons anymore. Maybe occasionally on fodder, but it doesn't seem like there are many intentionally bred dragons with them! A lot of the older genes seem to have kinda died out imo.

I barely see clown on dragons anymore, honestly. Though, to be fair, it wasn't really the most popular gene. I think speckle/freckle have both faded away into obscurity too

Now that you mention it, I rarely see a lot of the older genes around (take Tiger/stripes as an example). Alloy and skink/spinner also seemed to be really popular when I joined in 2017, and while I see those more regularly what happened to that?

Edit: honestly Speckle is underrated, perfect for earth-ier dragons as well.

@EeveeDream I only have 1 clown Dragon in my lair and I think I've had her for 3-4 years. I love her to bits, but completely for got she had gotten. I don't think I have ever owned a speckle or freckle derg

@TheDeathseer I'm kinda sad about the older genes. I like alot of them, especially skink/spinner. ;-;

@EeveeDream One of my Clan leaders sports both speckle and freckle!

@NoirVogelchen New genes are cool and all but I do miss the use of older genes! Skink/spinner have still got to be my favorites on the site.

@TheDeathseer flaunt/flare are kinda a spiritual successor in a way, I guess. I still kinda like skink/spinner better

Every gene has a use, even the dead ones.
Gotta say though, keel never really took off.
