With the ancient breeds, we can finally stray from the standerd 4 legs 2 wings anf look into other shapes! Ancients lack of apparel allows for more creativity to play with the shape without needing to keep in mind how hats and stuff would go with it.
So what else can we do with the dragons? My Monster Hunter brainrot is hoping we get to see some fun new shapes to play with and hope some insperation from the MH franchise might bleed over!
note: not saying devs should just copy ideas from MH, just want to share the designs from there as examples of the ideas!
Thinsg I would love to see are:
1. Pseudo wyverns! Dragons that have evolved to use their wings more for grounded mobility instead of flight!

2. Snake Wyvern! 4 legs no wings with a looooong body! Would love this to be the earth ancient like the early concept earthshaker!

3. Special wings! Fans or fin like wings instead of the normal "hand" like ones we have would be so neat for a water ancient or lighting ancient!

i would LOVE some elementally inspired dragons that replace the wings entirely with something else for the secondary. like your snake ones but add foliage to use the secondary colour - or flames, or gemstones, or coral, or goo like shadowbinder has, or wispy magic built into the design, etc etc
this would probably require some outside-of-box genes but tbh done right you could probably get away with like... two secondary genes. like a dragon with fire gets a gene that gives it smoke, or embers. gemstones get a gene to make them seem glowing from inside, and so forth.
