Not a bad change! I think Flare or Flair both fit the gene, but Flair certainly has a bit more of a dramatic flair.

Going slightly off-topic here but when I saw "Flare" in the thread title, I was like "Wait, huh?" since my friends call me Flare and I didn't realize you were talking about the gene until I clicked this thread.

when it came out I saw someone say it should have been flair and someone else said flare could be like a solar flare or something, for the vague space theme going here? I wonder when this got switched huh

in the context it was used originally, it was supposed to have been 'flair,' as in 'this dragon has a lot of flair (meaning stylish) to them!' the original name was more or so meaning for a flare -- as in a solar flare, so it was best they changed it to what it actually meant!!

flair always made more sense to me to pair with the word 'flaunt' and I'm glad they changed it
