TOPIC | Locational Based Lair Effects

What if there were canon based effects to staying in your choice of lair?
The more 'volatile' the area, the worse the effects, but possibly larger bonuses.
Of course with the introduction of bonuses per area, there would also be a cooldown on choosing a new place to put your lair so you can't just hop about.

Luminax's Wake: Nuzlock territory
Cons: You can not receive dragons from players or the AH, as only the mad would go there. This status stays on you for 30 days after moving away as dragons still think really badly of your life decisions. There is a percent chance per day that one of your dragons will just vanish, either running away or having been eaten.

Pros: You gain extra Scavenging turns with boost to egg discovery from the massive amount of ruins being dug up and destroyed clans having possible surviving nests. There is also a permeant bonus 25% xp boost, as to survive there, you have to be aware and ready to get out.

Snowsquall Tundra:

Cons: None for the newbie area.
Pros: Not too bad of weather for Ice +1 gathering turn.

Turrets of Goldensparc:

Cons: You have to pay rent.
Pros: ???

Focal Point : Alien Abductions

Plague probably would have some hard canonical detriments and bonuses in the rougher areas. The Wyrmwound starts to have a forum thread just for it's death count.

Edit: Minor title edit since it's more about lairs than the world map.

This would be really interesting. Since right now I barely even pay attention to what location my lair is in. Here's a few ideas for the Ashfall Waste.

Emberglow Hearth (easy mode)

Cons: None
Pros: Actually quite pleasant for most dragons. One could stay outside as long as they want. (+5 gathering turns)

Magma Sanctum (hatchery mode)

Cons: None
Pros: Thanks to the unusually strong magic here, nests often contain more eggs than normal. (1 egg nests are impossible, 5 egg nests are more likely.)

Flintlock Fumaroles

Cons: This area is extremely taxing for dragons not possessing the element of fire. (Non-fire dragons will require 6 food per day instead of 3, and receive stat debuffs in the Coliseum.)
Pros: All that smoke is strangely energizing for fire dragons. (Fire dragons only lose 1 food point per day, and receive stat bonuses in the Coliseum.)

Magmablood Rebuke (Coliseum hard mode)

Cons: Your dragons have joined a rebellion against the rest of the Fire Flight. As a result, the Forgemasters will now use their vast wealth to send mercenaries against you. (Coliseum venues now contain more powerful enemies that can easily defeat your entire team.)
Pros: Defeating a mercenary gives way more EXP than normal enemies.

Cinderslag

Cons: You have to pay a small daily treasure tax to live here.
Pros: +10 lair space.

If you live near the Moonportal, you occasionally randomly wake up in shadow.

@CrystalClock

Oh, those are pretty good.

@Splinter707

Get teleported over to the Sunportal in Shadow, and vice vesa maybe?
I could see a clan living there that worships the day as a whole, and sees the transportation as just a natural part of the cycle.

It'd be cool to brainstorm and theory-craft, but unless there were only benefits as opposed to downsides, I wouldn't want to see this implemented. It would really penalize casual lore lairs or people who care about lair aesthetic.

@Naeryl [emoji=guardian laughing size=1] It's just a fun idea, on what exactly kind of bonuses/drawbacks their could be to territories based on how harsh they are supposed to be. Bonuses are just a sort of side to 'balance' out the theoretical cons, since otherwise ... why would anyone move their lair there? Like Wyrmwound/Fortress of Ends/etc sound like places you should not live.

@Reilata
Oh, of course! I'd also argue that the Fortress of Ends is a great place if you don't like having neighbors.

Wonder what Cloudsong would look like...
