Ok so, quick disclaimer before I get started; The main reasons I am thinking about this is because:
1. I usually like to picture the dragon breeds not as full quadrupeds, but instead as pseudo-bipeds / still-in-the-process-of-evolving-to-be-bipeds / facultative bipeds?
2. I was thinking of what makes Obelisks very distinct against the other breeds
3. I love overanalyzing my pixel dragons
Ok, with that out of the way, here's an observation I made. Obelisks are incredibly broad compared to other breeds of dragons (except maybe Snappers). Every other breed has a decently long neck compared to their body, whereas Obelisks have very broad and short necks.
Take a look at this overlay I did:
If you look at most other dragons, you can see that their head protrudes out relative to their body much more than that of an Obelisk.
Obelisks also have a much broader / denser upper torso than that of their lower torso. You can see this shape a bit better on the Male art:
This also leads me into my next point, which is Obelisk's arms. Obelisks have incredibly long and muscular arms, but thinner back legs.
The arms on the Male's art are a bit weird looking due to foreshortening, so I used the incredible power of photoshop to show about where their arms would end here:
So to put it all together: Obelisks are built like trucks. They are bulky and stout compared to most other breeds.
Here's some art I did to show what one might look like standing upright (again with my half biped/quadruped headcanons):
I don't think Obelisks would be very good fliers, their wings seem much a bit too short to carry their massive frame. Then again, their wings / torso in general seem pretty muscular, so who knows.
So yeah. That's my hot headcanon/interpretation for today. I would love to hear your thoughts on this!
