i really like lace, bar, daub, spinner, and ringlets, but i haven't seen a lot of these genes, especially bar/daub (i don't even have one myself yet)

I personally love basic if it’s pulled off right, I know a lot of people think all basic g1s are worthless but I don’t have any plans to gene my progens

I think Basic is a valid, wonderful 'gene'! Gives you plenty of room to be creative with when it comes to apparel and accents. :)

clown/eyespots, stained used to be unpopular idk now but I remember a lot of complaints, speckle/freckle, crackle big fan, ripple/current is really rare nowadays and I miss it, bar/daub solid gene, okapi, gembond

there might be more I don't know that they are unpopular

I like gembond for the most part. I know a lot of people also find Cry/Face tacky if they even remember it exists but I love it. Anything shiny, really.

I adore Lace, Okapi, and Thylacine, Ripple/Current, Bar/Daub is growing on me, Laced

I don't know what genes are popular and which aren't; looking at two different polls have conflicting results >_<

Still, I'm going to say tiger and savannah for primary. Not my favourites, but they're subtle and just adds a little texture. I especially like savannah's darker feet and hands. I do feel it's missing the same dark stripes to the tail, though.


I also really like peregrine. Stripey, and like savannah, adds that darker border.
[edit] Wait, peregrine is the counterpart to savannah. Aight yeah that makes sense LOL.

i'm also surprisingly fond of laced/edged
basic primaries/secondaries can be great for showing off accents and/or more complex terts (or just minimalist dragons in general)
i know keel is also pretty unpopular but i love seeing it used lovingly on a dragon (same with smirch)

Spinner is cool. Also, Jupiter/Saturn.

People talk about Keel like it's the most horrible thing staff has ever done, but I personally love it. It makes it look like the dragon is in the midst of growing/shedding beautiful gleaming scales! I'd have a lot more of it in my lair if I thought it'd be more profitable in breeding pairs lol
