-right now? Specifically, the current rebellion goin on? It kinda sounds like the great forge shutting down would have a bigger impact on Sornieth, considering they probably export everything from weapons to doorknobs, and it sound like most of that currently is shut down.
I really wanna start working on my lore again, and find a way to mix in the events happening in Temper, Temper, especially since I moved my clan over to the Magmablood Rebuke once I realized I had the chance.
I wanted to hear from y'all- what does your clan think of this? Especially those of you from fire- how's your clan dealing with the shut down and the resulting rebelion?

My whole clan is just watching from afar going "Wow, glad we moved before all that happened."

my clan mostly makes things by themselves, but it would affect them a bit, they'd probably just find smaller businesses to buy their doorknobs

Considering my lore is based on another planet, and few actually know that Sorneith exists (since most were brainwashed, forgot, think their time on Sorneith was a crazy dream or simply are in denial), it depends on the dragon. For the few that actually have portal access to Sornieth, one mainly is a Fire dragon and spends lots of time there (and believes what's happening is good). Whilst the others hop around, or genuinely don't care since they're there to make money.

I don't think the main body of my clan is too bothered by it. They're mostly craftsmen and townspeople types, so I don't imagine they rely ultra heavily on imports from Fire. Those that use power tools and machinery for their work probably figured out easily enough how to repurpose older bits and parts lying around, being a Lightning clan and all. Heck, I bet even one or two dragons in the clan made repurposing old machinery for the others into a business of their own and they're probably doing really well for themselves, lol.

The dragons of my clan that work in the Tempest Spire though... They're probably less happy about the rebellion situation. They probably find themselves using parts made in the Ashfall Waste more frequently. Sure, they probably could take the time to throw something together to solve their problems, but that takes time and isn't nearly as efficient as being able to get what they need directly from Fire territory. So yeah, they're probably a bit frustrated. More so than usual >.>

My clan doesn't really trade directly with the fire flight, but they would have noticed the increased difficulty in getting anything made of metal. Still, it's not like the arcane flight wouldn't have some metalworking industry of it's own. Though it may have sparked more interest in designing alternatives for the specialized metal tools and devices through arcane magic.

Now it probably did encourage some local mages to get on a boat and offer spellcasting services to the rebels, but that's a different issue entirely.

Iiiii can't imagine that's the only way to get things forged and made, haha, just the main way to get mass production and things like that. So it probably mostly affects clans outside of fire, for clans within fire probably have smaller ways of making things for themselves, so they're not totally out of luck when they don't need a ton of items.

Larger clans, like my own, probably have gotten a bit of an increase in sales and whatnot due to this, for they're probably the best ways to get larger amounts of items now, though obviously not at that grand of a scale.

I know my clan/Empire isn't too bad off due to this, for I imagine they definitely have a good amount of workers. I mean, being militaristic kinda means they do need a lot of weapons/armour that needs to be made sooner than later and doesn't need to be transported. If they suddenly needed a lot due to one thing or another, that would be a problem, but they're well off and peaceful as of this moment.

Edit: Coming back to add in, my clan is likely supporting the rebellion, at least somewhat. My clan is, yes, wealthy, but also not greedy, and a small chunk of the members originally lived in a clan where they had to do a rebellion of their own, so they know how it goes.

My clan is pretty independent and self-reliant, but we do not have an actual blacksmith just yet. This situation may prompt them to get one or two.

I haven’t read the lore in over a year and I took I hiatus so I’m kinda out of it, but from what I remember: My clan is fire (referring to my main clan, not the little random groups) but I’ve never really thought about how they make money in much detail. I guess they’re less of a clan and more of a company. They organise and control various smaller clans who individually exalt, do metal working, etc. They handle the business side whilst hiring others to transport supplies, import materials, etc. However, their focus is on war efforts rather than producing supplies. Plus I imagine they also have a whole division relating to raiding other smaller clans outside the fire flight for materials. Kinda evil but business is business I’ve never really thought too much in-depth about how the rebellion would affect them, they aren’t really under threat of suffering directly but the rebellion does affect profits for them so they probably are just waiting for it to end in some fashion so they can get back to maximum war efforts. Here’s the opinion of one of my dragons, albeit a very greedy one:
“Ah! I’m not one for politics particularly (unless those politics involve me being supreme ruler of all). Really, I just think we should all utilise the power we have been given to reclaim the world for the Flamecaller and win the war. Whether that involves cutting jobs or not, or making the most money possible or not.”
Well, since my clan is a port city, and essentially a trading hub because of that, I'd say the rebellion would have an effect on my clan. I like to imagine that they do a lot of trade with every flight, some a little more than others. Given how close Fire is, I'd say they're one of the clans that they trade with most often, and maybe act as a rest stop for ships from that flight to stock up before heading off somewhere else. Fire probably is a major source of income for my clan, and while there are still other clans they can trade with like Water and Ice, which are also really convenient, and I can assume that prices on certain things will go up because of the revolution. That and my clan has an underground black market, so they're going to have an extra fun time with this. Like, the revolution will hurt some of their business, but the assassins and mercenaries might have a field day honestly.
