Why/why not?
I use them sometimes for unspecific dragons that I have no ideas for. Just click through them till I get something cool or something that gives me an idea.

Always for fodder. I've also kept some names that were definitely generated, but don't tend to name permas/fodder breeders from it.

When I started the site, most of my names came from random gen. but now I only use it for fodder/when I’m bored. Otherwise I tend to procrastinate so a good chunk of my dragons are unnamed, but when I sit down to think about it I usually use a name from mythology that mirrors the dragon’s story

I used to until I decided on a naming scheme which has worked out well. I do it for fodder still. I’ll probably branch out later on and start using it again. I’m not great with coming up with names just out of nowhere so it’s really helpful for my pea brain. I named the majority of my characters with name generators. Why should my dragons get a different treatment?

I use 'em for dragons I don't have any name ideas for and also fodder if the breeding pair doesn't have a set theme.

no, i have specific ideas for the dragons i make, and the name has to be fitting to that idea in some way. the likelyhood of the website random generator coming across something like that is very small. the closest i would get to using a random generator would be some other websites very specific fantasy generators.

All the time for fodder, and occasionally if I'm stuck on a name I'll click through the options a little while (though I only rarely find one I want to keep).

I'm sure it doesn't help that we're all naming them at 3am while half brain-dead.

No, my dragons are named according to an alphabet-based system. A few of my bought dragons came with names from the randomizer that I didn't change, but that's all.
