I think it's normal for people to want to switch currencies! Usually people prefer hoarding gems and pay in treasure, while I'm usually broke in treasure and switch to gems.

honestly, i've done it both ways, sometimes you just have more in a certain currency. Most sellers are willing to let you pay in the other and some in mixed as well.

I'd be too nervous to shoot people a pm, asking stuff like that too. Even if they had a message in the dragons bio or anywhere else, saying that they don't mind pm, I would be too afraid to ask people to pay in the other currency.

Though to ease any tension or awkwardness, whenever I post a dragon on the AH (which isn't often), I like to explicitly say in the broadcast message and in the bio that I accept the other currency and mixed payments if you PM me about it.

i think to most people, money is money, no matter what kind of currency it is
Lol I did that a few weeks ago. I had just paid off a skin order and had like 3-4 gems. The dragon I wanted was 7g. It was awkward but the seller was happy to take treasure.
