Ignore the fact that Gaolers have wings? Sometimes i forget or just ignore gaolers have wings, since i never reslly got the point of why they would have them in the first place. Kinda makes me womder what an actual wingless gao would look like.

I like the concept of gaolers attaching stuff to their wing stubs as prosthetics n stuff. when I say attaching stuff what I mean is I imagine them attaching like canons n stuff to a metal wing frame

A while ago when people were going crazy over that dragon size/wingspan calculator thing, I drew the conclusion that Gaoler wings are probably a vestigial trait left over from their evolutionary ancestors

I don’t really pay attention to FR lore so pls forgive me if I’m way off base here

is very likely to take your posts literally - has difficulty discerning if tone is joking

Evolution isn't really applicable to the dragons, not because "haha magic cool", but because the dragons were directly made by the deities, and also because they've only existed a few thousand years anyway! So the first dragons didn't really have any ancestors: they were made of magic by the deities, and even though their descendants would evolve afterwards, there wouldn't have been significant noticeable differences because again, only existed like 5000-10000 years or so. They might evolve a bit faster because magic though.

@Lifeseeker

Oh, thank you!! Now that you mention it I do recall someone else telling me about Ancients being directly tied to the deities. And since the Icewarden is a harsh prison god, it does seem to be in line with his character to create flightless dragons.

I completely agree that Gaolers look more like beasts than dragons. That probably heavily contributes to the reason why they appeal to me, since I went through a wolf-obsessed phase when I was a child, and I’ve been a diehard cat lover my entire life.

@FeatherHibiscus

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain the lore to me in a way that makes it easy for me to understand!! I appreciate that.

But now it makes me very curious as to which deity created the new two-headed ancient, and for what purpose?? New breed hype intensifies
