these are chain catsharks, and the first thing i thought when i saw them was HUH that looks a lot like mosaic/breakup!

the color within the lines is less clear in this picture, but the lines themselves look even more like mosaic/breakup to me.
apparently these guys are common in public aquariums, so it makes sense that the artists might come across one, either in person or over the interwebs!
I had no idea there was a real animal with that kind of pattern! Always figured they just named it after the art form. This is really cool!
