Ok so i've been on site for six yrs and a half now
and it's been a wild ride, i started off as a clueless 17 yr old. now look at me 24 and looking back at the horrors of what i didn't know.
I have two of my own to share. but i think we've all been there, right, we've all struggled and made mistakes out of ignorance that we still think about

The most tame one is when i'd do gathering, for some obscure reason i automatically assumed that foraging in nature and fishing in water territories would yield better results. It's funny when you think about it bc no consequences to these, it makes me chuckle a little when i forage/fish nowadays

But the worst offender oh my god, so. 2015, right. joxar's crates were NOT a thing. fest items retired after that festival, right, and right now the pricing's exploding for those items on the market
get this. prepare yourself mentally sit down this one's a lot: i thought, that um. you were only allowed ONE apparel per festival.
which would mean i only grabbed ONE set of skeletal chimes. and then went "oh well i've done my part :3 ♥" and DELIBERATELY STOPPED THERE.
and this lasted for ALMOST A YEAR until greenskeeper 2016 when it finally hit me.
Pain.

anyways share yours i'm curious to know what other long time users have to say about their early moments on-site

thought marva items retired so after the marva eyes released i bought one for several hundred k

I really loved how you wrote that out, made me chuckle at the energy of it. But MY GOD that is one funny as hell beginner mistake. Only getting one of a fest item. Nooooo XD

Back in 2013 I didn't realize that there were forums that I could just BUY gems from other users so I had the idea that I had to buy iron and gilded chests for their gems in order to buy gem items off the marketplace. This was way back before i actually knew how to invest and make money so it took me a LONG time to save up for any gem genes. Thankfully i learned. (eventually)

I used to hoard sell runestones, I guess it was just newbie luck but I used to get them all the time and didn't know they were valuable, now I have a bunch of hibden quests for em and I'm having 0 luck, too stubborn to buy them too lol.
I've hoardsold/melted a bunch of other valuable hibden items too, I'm so grateful for the yellow bars lol

I also hoardsold runes. Thought they had no use, but thankfully I haven’t gotten any of the rune quests for hibden.

Exalting a very matchy red gen 1 because I didn't understand the value of gen 1s. Actually exalting a bunch of gen 1s, but the red one sticks out the most to me because I kept him in my lair for a while then exalted him to make space for toher dragons

He was so pretty, and a dragon in his colours could have easily sold for 50+ gems

this isn't a big deal really but as a g1 lair it kinda hurts me to see g1s in my lair with offspring,, bred my progens (fairly common not necessarily a mistake) but i still regret it aaaa

I don't think I ever did anything too bad, but I used to keep Every Single Dragon I was gifted or won from things like door games, and I would take some from friends I got to play too. I still have some of them, specifically Darryn, Setaax, Yahir, Katrino, Bones, Penteaa, Cadaroc, and Athalia, but I used to have tons more... so many weird dragons that I didn't even have ideas for anything to do with. Not to say that my dragons aren't weird now. I just used to have even more and those didn't even have nice plans.

Cleaning out my lair when I started playing actively again this year was great.

edit: WAIT I also bred a lot of dragons that now I wish didn't have offspring with each other due to lore I have planned for them now. I just ignore it but... man I wish some of them didn't have kids now and I can't just replace any of the dragons.
