I really need to stop looking at the skin entry thread for each festival, I only ever end up disappointed :') I was really hoping for the colorful clay creator skin to win! And the archeologist one looked really cool too. And deepearth digger. And tiger's eye...

I knew the archeologist wouldn't stand a chance. It's not what generally wins (I thought it was really cool, but I've been around long enough to know apparel-esque things like that don't make it)
They're all really well executed accents and skins, but some of them feel very same-ish. And I guess that's the point with fest stuff. Cohesion.
I would just love to see something more, I guess. We had a long conversation about this about two weeks ago. Earth should be more than "covered in some sort of rock"

Yeah i was gonna mention something similar but I didn't want it to come off as mean or anything. I'm just not a very big fan of skins for Earth that just cover my dragons in random rocks or pebbles or gems.... it doesn't seem very interesting to me, visually or in concept.
And I feel the same as you about the "cohesion" of fest stuff... but I'll keep my specific opinions on that to myself, lol.
Speaking of weird Earth stuff for this fest, what is the apparel supposed to be exactly? The description doesn't help me understand at all :/ it's certainly not something I'd associate with Earth on its own.

I'm also not a fan of the apparel. The art is good, it just... doesn't do it for me. It also looks like a Steampunk-y Lightning apparel piece rather than Earth and I'm not a fan of Steampunk aesthetic.
The familiar, on the other hand, is actual perfection. Love it.

it just looks like fashion/jewlery, except designed to somewhat look like bones with amber, so it would be popular with 'fossil farmers'.

Make no mistake, the chosen skins are all lovely! But oh man, what I would have given for Our Ancestors and Clawneiform to win. That tar pit-themed Gaoler skin was great too; shame it was submitted too late.
Of course, this is kind of an inherent problem with fest skins--only so many can win, and with festivals having been around for so long now, things are going to feel samey after a while.

I would have killed for ado's skin to be chosen as it was my favourite one but sadly no, there were so many I loved that didn't get picked so I'm a little sour.
There some that do look nice tho (lovin ancient painter and far and away). Problem is there are so many dragon breeds on the site now that there are just not enough winner slots and it would be best if they expand it.
