We all know that emperors are a big bad scary thing in our dragons world, so do you think creatures with multiple heads are seen as bad omens or scary?

I would think so! Especially amoung light clans. I can't see my own dragons being accepting of an anicent with many heads either.

How would your clan react to a multi headed dragon? Would they see it as a sign of the end times or just a many brained friend?

TBF, the [item=Ferberus][item=Calico Ferberus] also have multiple heads, and I don't know if dragons think those are too scary! So it might not be a defining Emperor-associated thing if something has multiple heads, so much as just a feature any number of creatures could have.

Esme, a very red and Plague-themed Skydancer. A medallion depicting the Plaguebringer in profile.
Eh, they probably wouldn't care too much. I mean, they aren't made up of dead imps so they're probably okay.

Given animals in our worlds sadly don't live long when they have a mutation like that I'd say any dragon that shouldn't naturally have multiple heads might be a sign of disease, radiation, or sickness in their genetics (or in the case of radiation the area) but if it's suppose to have multiple I don't see why they'd just automatically assume bad things.

As emperors are rare and with imperials themselves being so secretive about that and their burials, I'm sure up until recently most dragons didn't know about emperors (or they heard tales of them and might just think they're fiction). Of course, going back to my own lore, my clan does have a sleeping emperor (imprisoned and deprived of magic energy to keep it weakened and "safe"). Still, as mentioned above, I don't think they'd see other dragons as bad omens or anything just for the number of heads (unless there were documented recordings and stuff that could prove it).
Lol I guess my clan, as a whole, just isn't very superstitious. Leaders might heed caution of unknown/new things (like this upcoming ancient) but they aren't going to believe rumors without checking their facts. No need to scare their clanmates with nonsense.

There are hydras with multiple heads in the Volcanic Vents. My coli team, including my founder, has certainly seen plenty of those. Rat Kings and Rat Lords in the Waterway, too.

My clan includes awakened skeletons from Cairnstone Rest, and haunted dragons who sort of function like they have multiple personalities in one body. So while a new multi-headed ancient would be an adjustment, I think my clan could manage. I'll be more interested in seeing what lore comes with a multi-headed species.

My guess - and this is just a guess, I don't remember if the devs have specifically confirmed this or not - is that new breeds will probably be native to regions that only have one native species so far.

Light has imperials and pearlcatchers already, so I'm not expecting them to be native to Light. Shadow has nocturne and veilspun. Earth has snappers and now obelisks. Wind has skydancers and spirals. Fire has coatls and banescales. Ice has tundras and gaolers.

If I'm right, the candidate regions would be Arcane (fae), Water (guardians) Plague (mirrors), Lightning (ridgebacks), and Nature (wildclaws).

[/quote] They did confirm somewhere that they're not going to give any element that has multiple dragons their ancient until every element has two breeds. It's probably been confirmed multiple times, not sure where. Animals can be born with two or several heads. And in many cases die because of it.
So a living multiheaded animal or dragon would be awesome! Good job! You beat evolution!

I still believe the clan would be sceptical of them at first, but as emperors are dead creatures, simply checking for a heartbeat would probably calm their nerves.
