- I like to think when a dragon goes through a breed change, they retain characteristics from the breed they were. Maybe an extra set of horns, or feathers. Maybe their size is weird?
- Genes aren't just decoration. For instance, dragons with Ghost are bonier / have sharper features. Runes actually glow and are inner magic.
- Snappers cannot fly, period. I know its canon that Wind and Arcane Snappers can, but I like the believe they can't.
- Certain apparel items are physically attached and apart of dragons, like the Flatfins.

i'd like to believe each species has its own 'variant' of sorts depending on the area, but it's more of an evolution than a "oh this coatl was born in arcane and has arcane eyes" sort of thing.
hard to explain lol

Ok that would make an awesome tale though. Might even use it on one of my dragons :)

Familiars are stored within chests as tiny, "compressed" versions of themselves, like a Pokéball.
Capsule dragons can store liquids inside of their underbellies. Parri, the alchemist, often holds transmutation compounds.
Characters from other worlds sometimes enter through portals into Sornieth, transforming into fandragons when they arrive.
A lair's dragons mostly act for themselves, occasionally guided by an otherworldly presence known by strange names. I, Dragon2NEO, am one of those presences.
Dogs are aliens from the human world. Why else would a "Boston Terrier" exist?
I may edit this later as I think of more.

All breeds can eat any type of food, but their game-mechanic diet is what they rely on for most of their nutrients, and thus can’t live without those types of food.

oh I LOVE this!
reminds me of a kinda involved of mine -
- it's a high level of Shade-taint that drives animals that would not ordinarily work together to attack dragons together (because beastclan people working together is one thing, but how the heck are three different random animals coodinating attacks otherwise?)
- this means that sufficient Shade-taint in different hosts shares a collective intelligence
- a derg collapsed on the coli battlefield is being fed on by the Shade
- dragons never eat beastclan peoples b/c of a superstition that eating an intelligent being who is Shade-tainted is a way of becoming tainted
- Shade is destroyed if the host is destroyed & the Shade may flee a host to try to save itself when a battle is going badly
- opponents freed of the Shade may be deeply disoriented; animals and beastclan peoples alike may regress to a helpessly dependent state of mind, and this is where familiars come from, tagging along after dragons for lack of any other way to survive
- it's Baldwin who is putting the familiars into chests after taking his samples from them

Of course snappers can fly! They just can't fly under their own power. There is a rich pilot tradition among wind snappers.
