While 2FA is a good idea in general the fact that it wasn't specified how it would be implemented has me worried. If they go the steam route with codes it would be a hinderance that negatively affects those with vision issues. (at least in my case) If they do captchas the same is still a problem, but FR also has a bad track record with captchas. (ie. the coli captchas we all hate)
As someone who constantly travels from country to country for my job i'm in the minority of players that'll be majorly affected by this. I'd love for them to make it an optional thing as no not everyone wants 2FA or would benefit from it.
How does everyone else feel about the security measures update?

edit: I know some players have had their accounts hacked. While yes this is sad, 2FA isn't necessarily the only solution. 2FA only stands to harm certain people in the player base. A simple toggle option would solve all the problems. Having it immediately toggled when the update rolls out would solve any hiatus problems as well.

im not thrilled by it tbh, i wish it Was opt-in, but if not, i at least hope that im able to opt-out. i dont need nor want 2fa on my account

i am constantly logging in and out on my different devices, and im going to be a little annoyed if im constantly having to do 2fa every time i log in. also, what if the security thing thinks my activity is suspicious and i get banned for no reason?

I'm worried about it to be honest. While it's a good thing they're implementing a higher standard of security, I've had lots of problems with 2FA before. I just pray they wont ask for our phone numbers.

I also use many devices (3 being my laptop, phone and tablet) so I’m hoping it’s not every time the site is opened as that’ll get old fast

I’ve had zero issues with hackers in the past, but I’ve lost access to multiple accounts due to ‘security measures’ (including 2FA) forced on me by sites. Which all failed to provide sufficient support in recovering said accounts. If this is what FR is deciding to do, I hope they also focus on helping players not lose their accounts due to their own requirements.

I'm okay with it so long as it doesn't ask for my phone number. Though I can see it being quite the hassle for some.

I think most 2FA is done through simple emails these days. I really don't mind it if its done through email. I definitely don't like the "Type in this code" versions especially if they're through phone, but I highly doubt they will be since this site is used by a significant amount of younger players who might not even have their own phones.
