What genes are exclusive to it?
Is it a gem breed?
What does it look like?
What element is it?
Lore?
Trivia?

Post your hypothetical ancients!

Here's mine:

Cyclones
Wind

Long, large wyrms that are pulled around with the current of the wind. No arms, no back legs, just noodle. Looks kind of like a lovechild of a spiral and a skydancer. They have a long feathered frill extending down their body.

They're able to sleep while flying, and can utilise their tail to perform tasks like writing!

Exclusive genes would probably include some sort of wind gusts and spikes.

Aww, a snek derg! Adorable :3 Would love to see that.

I've had a small idea cooking up, kinda eh but here I go.

Jesters
Arcane (chose because their appearance is most similar to the Arcanist, i swear im not showing favoritism to my flight lol)

Very small, stout bodies, with stubby limbs and a long, spiralling tail. They have little frills on their heads, arranged in a way akin to a jester's hat. Their wings double as an extra pair of arms (albeit more so to cling onto things, not so much true arms). They look kind of like the elemental goblins, albeit more draconic. Might make a little doodle of an idea and post it!

When they sleep, they entangle their tails around trees and cling onto nearby branches with their wings, creating a sort of hammock for themselves.

True to their name, they're mischievous and love to play magical tricks on other dragons- oftentimes becoming too rowdy accidentally. Their childish curiosity can sometimes lead them to trouble, though it is expected from such an excitable species. They have very potent magical powers, which is recognizable when their eyes and tail glows and they suddenly calm. (maybe a glowtail tert for them?)

Exclusive genes would probably be sort of harlequin patterns or little bell protrusions on the end of their frills/wings (like jester hats! :3)

I'd love to say it's not a gem breed but it's exclusive genes could be - I was never a fan of gem exclusive things.

Whats its name? TBD
What genes are exclusive to it? Lion's mane, gives it a beautiful mane of hair. Long hair, makes it look like a long haired cat.
Is it a gem breed? Preferably, no. I'd only be okay with it if everyone was given like 2 free eggs to start with.
What does it look like? A furred 6-legged cat like dragon, think sphinx. Its pose could a cat prowling or leaping??
What element is it? Nature or Light. I chose these two bc I can see cats being associated more with jungles and hunting, but also sphinx mythology ties them to riddles and knowledge.
Lore? They are a smaller breed maybe and like to live in hallowed out trees or pillars! They can also make dens.
Trivia? If from light, they were made by the Lightweaver as keepers of great knowledge.

Whats its name? Slithers/Shajas
What genes are exclusive to it? Not exclusive, but the secondaries are all on its cobra-like hood since they don't have wings, so Eye Spots looks like the classic cobra glasses. Also, while I'm being self-indulgent, tertiaries for eyelash viper lashes, Tetrapodophis protolegs, a feathered crest with color highlights, and scene hair (the latter has no snake foundation; I just think it's neat)
Is it a gem breed? No
What does it look like? Big snake. No wings. No legs. Only cobra hood. That's where the secondaries go. They've got eyes roughly the shape and size of Spirals, but no sclerae except in Dark Sclera eyes.
What element is it? Earth, probably
Lore? Big boys who slither around in crevices. They used to have legs, but lost them so they'd be better at burrowing. They also have cute hognose snake-shaped noses for better burrowing. They're really good at finding buried treasures and sometimes they scare miners who mistake their shining eyes in the dark for gems (a reference to the historical belief that cobras have gems in their foreheads, and yes, their version of Gembond has those)
Trivia? They were made by Mr. Earthshaker to uncover history that less skinny dragons couldn't get to, and are also either combating or to blame for the stories of skeletal wyrms.

The Enforcer - they/themAboutArtFree IconsAvatar DragonNeocitiesWishlistA pixelated animation of a teal Mirror dragon wearing a blue and purple hood. They blink and then a heart appears in a speech balloon before filling with dark liquid and fading to black.
Whats its name?

Chirins (pronounced cheer-ons)

What genes are exclusive to it?

All of these are terts

Monohorn (gives them only one horn instead of two)

Trihorn (gives and extra horn facing front)

Feral (Long fangs and sharper hooves)

Slepnir (gives them 6 legs )

Other genes

Capsule, Scorpion,Gnarlhorns,Branches

Is it a gem breed?

No

What does it look like?

A crossbreed between a horse and eastern dragon with stag horns, long tails and thick scales. They are a mid sized breed that can fly without the use of wings, they store wind in between thier scales to keep them afloat.

What element is it?

Wind

Lore?

Wind wasn't always a peaceful flight, it was one of the most war mongering flights and the Chirins proves this. The breed was rediscovered when a scouting Obelisk and Gaoler find a cave high up in the sky sealed by the Windsinger's waning magic, the Chirin's immediately attacked the Gaoler due to them thinking that Ice is still their enemy.

The rest of the Chirins flew down the mountain to reclaim thier land to only find out that too much time has changed and decided to scout out the land to see how much has changed from what they knew.

Trivia?
Chirin scales can make good windchimes and armor for faes and veilspun

Can I just swipe that wonderful fake moth dragon Osiem, one of the staff artists did a while back? 'Cause I already wanted a moth dragon and it was perfect. Except the wings, something about the shape of those looks wrong to me. But otherwise pretty close to what I would wish for.

Genes
Swallowtail adds long tails to the wings.
Antenna gives them HUGE fluffy antenna instead of horns.
Beetle (from veils)
Caterpillar, gives them stinging fuzz/hairs that extends out from their normal manes in tufts. Maybe also some patterned color overlay on the body.
Pollen adds a dusting of pollen to the face and body in the tert color and a long curling tongue for sipping nectar.
Ragged makes the wing edges look worn and adds some torn spots (I realize this wouldn't work as a tert, but since this is imaginary anyway why not?)

Is it a gem breed? No thank you.

What element is it? I'd love to see it be a Nature breed.

name: tbd
genes: Glow tips (So like the tips of horns, wings, etc would glow), Flying Runes (Magical runes that emanate from/ swirl around the dragon), Aurora Aura (Basically what it sounds like, an aura close to the dragon that resembles an aurora).
Gem breed: yes, but no would be fine also.
Look: Like a jellyfish dragon but they float through air, but also the have wings to control their movements and they are not circular. Maybe I will make a sketch because this sounds hard to describe.
Element: Light
Lore: The light shines through their bodies, and refracts off of them like a prism creating rainbow colors below them wherever they go. They often travel long distances in order to teach and spread information to faraway clans. Floating high above the clouds only looking down to search for signs of civilization...
