Okay all this is just a curiosity. I'm trying to figure out if there is a certain reason why people buy what I would consider expensive hatchlings to just exalt them? I'm talking hatchlings that are listed for over 10K, when the current price for a hatchling is running around 6K. Had two hatchlings listed that were only a day old and listed well above the current selling price for push dragons and somebody snatch them up and exalted them without even naming them. I'm just trying to figure out rationalization for doing that because I know the person definitely lost money on exalting them. I'm a longtime player and I have seen this happen before and it's always kind of peaked my curiosity. I see no logical reason to do it. Why would someone (perhaps yourself) buy expensive dragons to exalt them for a loss, when they're cheaper ones available?
I am not in any way shape or form complaining about the fact that my Dragons were exalted unnamed. At this stage I really don't care. I'm a long time player. I'm just perplexed.
Please let me know if you know the reason for this, or if you're one of the people who do it and what's your reasoning for doing it is. Thanks.

At the time of writing, the hatchling floor is 9kt. Nature just flipped so Plague is probably buying up big amounts of hatchlings to get quick levels, driving the floor up before cheaper ones get relisted.

But why buy hatchlings that are listed for 20K right now when there are hundreds of hatchlings listed for around 6k? Why buy up expensive ones when there's cheaper ones available? That's my curiosity, and I've seen it happen during non domination pushes as well.

There arent any listed at 6kt, hatchling floor is at 10kt
We are talking about treasure as you only get treasure from exalting, no gems
since you dont get gems back from mexalting, its a double waste of money and time, we got less than 6 hours to fight left

Could be they had today's bonuses, as for why out of battles, well. people sometimes buy a hatchling only to find a better mate for a project it was meant for, or didn't really vibe with it after impulse buying, and in some cases people buy up hatchlings fo certain combos to keep the supply lower so they can keep selling theirs for higher prices.
Like, the possibilities are endless here really x'D

Outside of conquest battles, sometimes people will buy up dragons to use for breeding projects, only to find the dragons they bought either are too closely related, or they found one that is closer to their goal. Rather than relisting to recoup what they spent, which can be risky, or having them take up lair space that could be limited, they just exalt them as a hatchling.
Especially if a player is more established, taking a ~10kt loss by not relisting and/or levelling to exalt is nothing in the grand scheme of things. Especially if lair space is more limited, they may happily take the loss rather than have the dragon take up lair space.
Shortly after the Veilspun release, I had someone buy my Veilspun listed for 600g and exalt it unnamed (which means unlevelled). I figure whoever it was was after something particular, and the dragon they bought from me didn't make the cut.
At the end of the day, no dragon is perfectly safe from exaltation. There are exalted G1 Imps (that are not progens, not cheated in, and not generated by staff to show off exalt pillars). Some exalted a Roundsey dragon (restored him, but still). The gods are every greedy for more dragons to serve them.

people will take really big losses to push dominance. a few years ago people would buy 25,000t dragons and exalt them immediately when there was a huge plague push, even if it meant losing a lot of treasure
so i guess the difference between 6-10kt in money loss is just nothing to some people and they mass buy the hatchlings they know won't sell out while they're clicking LOL

yep people will take the loss during an exalt push. Also it could be somebody with a hatchery trying to eliminate the competition if they have a rare color combo. same for subspecies.
