I am a fan of the coliseum so instead of exhalting most of my dragons at the typical profit level of 6-7 (from what I can gather from the forums), I have been training pairs of them alongside my trainer up to 25. Obviously it takes forever, especially the final 3!
Level 25s are in the auction house for a pretty good amount though. What is the average amount they tend to go for? I'm new to the site so I don't have a good idea yet. I was also wondering about the reasons people usually buy top level dragons. Is it just to train their own fodder? Is it for the glory? Or does appearance come into it - is it worth levelling even my ugliest dergs up, or do people want pretty top level dragons?

people buy lvl25s on the ah because it takes a lot of effort to level.
Often these dragons will be used a lot by the buyer so there's a decent market for pretty ones.

I personally bought my first coliseum team because I just. Wanted to! No particular reason, I picked a pretty off of the AH for 150g (owner was leaving the site and wanted the dragon gone) because that was my only money.

I did a full on lair purge a while back so I needed a new fodder trainer, I ended up buying a G1 lv 25 for like 500g? It was probably 250g but I seriously can't remember lol.
I wasn't bothered what he looked like as I just slapped a marva cloak on him and called it a day.

oh, i'm doing a fun challenge of leveling every perma to 25 lv! it's definitely way more enjoyable than just mindlessly leveling basillions of dragons to 6 and throw them into the data void!
while i leveled my first team manually by going through every venue, i think people buy 25s so they won't spend eternity leveling up someone on their own!
however i think the market of 25s consists of dragons that were someone's permas and just stopped sparking joy for them.
there's a really popular service of leveling up other people's dragons!

Currenly cheapest lvl 25s are 250 000 treasure, so exalt payout of 23 lvl 7s (~ 11 000 treasure) or 220 gems
To get dragons to lvl 25s you need 1,363,652 xp points, which is equal to 67 lvl 7s (that require only 20,239 xp points)
Also, idk, Flamemom will take every scrungly with open arms but lvl25 is an expensive dragon, and, no matter how pretty, expensive dragons take a while to sell.
Also, market is pretty limited. Most people don't need more than 5 lvl 25s

I never sell level 25s but I buy them when they fit my aesthetic.
I have a thing about my lair. I want all my permas to be max level. So the more permas I get that are already max level, the less arduous my insane quest is, lol
