do you have melting days and try to save up as much mats as you can? or would it be more worth it to just buy them?

i i uh gotta brew 54 darkened sights and melting the mats is more time consuming than brewing the actual damn thing so im tempted to just throw all my money at the ah but i should save up, not to mention the brew cost too

man i should stop coming up with projects and just sell mats

i just melt things casually unless i actively need certain ones, but yeah if you need like 54 darkened sights it might just be more effective to buy atleast some of the materials,

there is also the feature of turning your already existing baldwin mats into other kinds (like purple sludge into blue) so if you have extra materials you can "level up" (or down) without needing to spend a bajillion gems in the auction house, or you could sell some extra mats you dont need and use the proffits from those to buy ones you do need, theres options

I think the personality question outweighs the profit question here.

I'm always brewing materials and hoarding supplies so that I will have whatever I need when I want it. It makes me happy to be able to brew my own items on a whim, even if that means I'm sitting on a stockpile of materials that I could sell instead.

54 vials.... that's some project. You're going to have to make a sacrifice of time and treasure on that, no matter what you decide. Good luck!

Our cauldron is open for brewing once you've got the materials. We'd also be willing to sell some of our spare Sludge, Gold Muck, and Yellow Goo at a discount, since 54 Vials is... certainly a project.

I just save up as many materials as I can. I may need them one day.

I make my own brews! In my 3 years on FR I've never bought a Baldwin material. I'm max level so I can brew anything, the biggest struggle is getting the non-Baldwin mats needed to make a brew, but that's mostly just tedious and not actually dificult

I also melt down objects basically 24/7. If I have FR open I'm melting. Baldwin has been my screensaver since I joined

If there's something I need to brew, I'll just buy the materials on the auction house to expedite the process. I don't transmute because RNG frustrates me and I can't be bothered to check back every 30 minutes, and chances are I don't want to have to wait more time brewing beakers and alchemical reductions just to get to the genes I'm really interested in.

Melt stuff regularly in preparation for festivals/Baldwin updates. I've no desire to be caught with something like "you're missing five orange goo!" when a Baldwin gene or somesuch hits.

i start a new brew almost every time i get the notification that the old one has finished regardless of whether i need the materials or not, although i mainly do so because i sell masses of sludge later while saving up for rare apparel or lair slots

i generally only buy materials from the auction house if they can't be obtained through reducing or if it's something that's tedious to obtain like blue sludge

I continuously melt unless there's something I need for projects so I don't have a whole lot of input here. I used to brew eggs for profit but I have enough cash coming in to counter my projects right now so I'd rather save all of my purple and blue.
