I've been wandering in and out of FR for the past few months, life's been busy and my clan has lost my interest, the normal things. But recently, the temptation to ditch literally every dragon in my lair and restart my entire lore has gotten to me. I'm still fond of many of the stories I've made for my dragons, so I'll shuffle those away to my personal archives, but... I'm kinda torn. I've had many of these dragons for Years and they have tons of writing and thought behind them.
I guess I'm asking for opinions/experiences? Have any of you ever completely upended your lair and lore and had regrets after? Any good experiences?

I'd say go for it! They don't bring you that much joy any more. But maybe start off slow? Remove any apparel or skins or accents they have and let them sit there for a few weeks or so. If you find you don't like them, get rid of them. If you still like them and feel strongly attached, den them! You could have them in a tab and work it into new lore like they're statues of long lost dragons that no one really knows where they came from, but haven't the heart to take them down.

I totally get that! My lair has gotten big enough to the point that I am starting to actively have lair clearouts and I'm wondering if I should part with some of my first nests. Downsizing always helps and I had a weird idea where I will spend half the year in Shadow and half the year in Fire with a completely different lore story and clan depending on flight. I can den my other clan in the downtime and then I always have something to cycle and keep things interesting.

if you want, you could always save images of your dragons in a google doc, along with their lore. that way you can start over while keeping memories of them safe and secure

I have! Purged my whole lair once. I regretted it after, then took a months long hiatus, then came back to rebuild. I miss some of my og dragons but I’m incredibly happy with my lore and lair now, so in the end, I’m glad I did it

I'm in the process of doing that right now! I took a two year long hiatus and now I'm just not as attached anymore and want to start new again. I'm trying to sell some of my cheaper dragons first, but I'll probably sell my valuable ones at some point too. They just don't bring me love like they used to, but I want to see most of them go to good homes. I'm excited to start fresh soon once I figure out what I'm doing. Definitely go for it!

I just put my Orginal lair in my hibernal den and then put my new lair in my main den. I couldn't be happier with the choice. I say go for it!

I held onto dragons before because I felt guilty and it was no good - it just stressed me out and I had no motivations to even visit my lair.
Once I purged everything, I just felt free. I'm content with having my old dragons as fond memories and nothing more.

I didn't completely start over, but I did sell a bunch of my dragons to change from a primarily G1 lair to a mixed lair. It's been roughly a year and I have no regrets
