TOPIC | How do you view your hoard?

Ever since I started FR, I have just viewed my hoard as like……a giant pile. There was just no other way to view it for me. Fancy apparel, treasure chests, live scorpions, meat carcasses, magical creatures, mysterious goo, plants that somehow aren’t dead. One. Big. Pile. It wasn’t until I went to the hoard setting page, that had an FR official picture of, an organized lair. My mind was shaken. I have a whole new perspective on life

I’m curious if it is just me, so, how do you view your hoard?

I had never seen the official picture before you mentioned it here :0
I guess things hoarded in my lair is like there is a big shelf that take probably two or three walls with lots and lots of cells and a platform that can lift and slide dragons to different cells! All the things are just placed in there, and dragons can come to get things when they need something.

I think of it almost as an index? Something about every item on the site having it's own id always made me imagine like. Neat little serial numbers everything having it's own little spot in a storage room of lined up filing cabinets or shelves. Apparel a little less organized, hung up in their own spot on racks like costumes you'd find behind a stage.

Only exception being food because I do have a chef dragon and always imagined the clan they're in having an actual kitchen to keep supplies in lol

thanks, i didn't even realise that settings page existed

that aside, to me it's just a giant mass. an enormous mountain of random items existing in some miscellaneous location, on an entirely different plane of existence from my lair because no way can a small clearing in the middle of the starwood strand fit 916 mith dolls

Basically the 'hoard' is all the clan's resources locked in a vault, in my clan. actually its 2 vaults, but you get the point.

since ive got lore, ill tell you how its handled in my clan

there's a general vault and then a security vault.

hoard is divided into these 2 categories.

Security vault is all the important stuff, like the clan's currency, the government's various treasures and their money, top secret things, things that needed to be protected at all cost, and an emergency stash of food.

General vault is everything else.

Now resources can be bought from both vaults out into the world.

Things that dragons make and food that's grown is kept, however.

Dragons don't have to put things in the vaults.

The vaults also function like banks of sorts. A dragon can put stuff in the vaults and it works sort of like a bank irl. Dragons can also take stuff out of the vaults, again like a real bank.

They even have their own bankkeepers vaultkeepers

Now as for the bank portion of the vaults, it's very orderly. However, the government section of the general vaults is basically just like a classic dragon's hoard. A pile of random stuff. Except for food, that's its own section. Apparel and random trinkets are kept in this pile of stuff. Now as for familiars, they're taken to various familiar shelters (you know, sort of like the shelters we see in irl)

The security vaults are more orderly in the government section. The emergency food supply is dumped in a crate which has a long-term ice magic enchantment in it.

The crate can be opened and the stuff retrieved if the need arises. Now dragons who get food are paid money to put stuff in the emergency food stash. It's not much, but it's something.

By the way, where's the offical picture?

edit: i forgot about my other clan, the Order of the Celestial Tree

They basically put all their stuff in a secluded treeroot in said tree. Only Twilight knows where it is, so important stuff like currency and stuff goes there.

The system isn't as complex as Laputa's is (aka the above)

and by the way, where's the offical picture??

it exists in the same plane of reality as my treasure and gems: that is, it only exists inasmuch as it is a game abstraction because i just cannot figure out a way to reconcile it with the fact my lore covers four separate completely disconnected cities.

It used to be more of a cave system but since now they live in a castle it is more of a repurposed dungeon.

If you go to you hoard and click the settings button in the top right corner, it is part of the page.

Mine is that it's sorted in a collection of caves! In the main city of Zhul, there's a giant cave that houses all the food for safe keeping, but easy access.
The clan's main hoard is stored in 3 caves (apparel, metals/ores/things that can be used in alchemy, and then everything else) closer to the clan's sleeping areas, and connected to the slumbering chamber (hibernal den's drop off tab), but can be accessed by other routes that only the clan knows.
Anything that's in the vault is stored in some caves connected to my leaders' den areas so that they can have close eye on it and so that it's safe deep down. That and because their den areas are well hidden, so naturally would be the caves connected to it.

My hoard is meticulously organized and catalogued, because Seaspray would not stand for anything else and the clan knows better than to mess with her.
