sometimes i just hold back from sharing my dragons cause none of them have the elaborate extremely expensive outfits and i adore all of my dragons but my gosh its kind of a lurking feeling when i try to go to dragon share and just have fun with the threads for example i used to love the prettiest dragon above you threads on my old acc (lost login info and yada yada) but i see all the elaborately dressed dragons now and i just dont want to participate anymore outfits are so so expensive (at least the few that ive liked so far for my dragons) and finishing genes is far more useful imo-- so i dont have money to save. idk- does anybody else ever feel like this? sorry if this counts as a vent thread its not supposed to be that deep im just wondering if im alone on this or if this is normal lol
I want to clarify that I like outfits, and I have outfits prepared, but I dont have them and wont have them for a while and overall just feel yucky or embarassed showing them off because everyone else has outfitted dragons that are gorgeous and mone just- arent there yet? I dont know thats also overall not the point though its not a super big deal, but its really interesting to know how others feel about the same issue! i dont need advice though haha- i appreciate it so much but i dont want this to become a self-help forum, im more so interested in how or if you guys feel the same or different
it's a self-esteem problem that most likely poisons a lot of your experience, not just dragons, isn't it?..

i don't feel like this for my individual dragons, but i feel insecure about my lair as a whole. it's just... others have awesome formatting, sorting, tabs have their own purpose and vibe... and my lair is as messy as me.
it's ok to have those feelings, of course. but i think it requires some mental training to stop the toxic urge to compare yourself to others; to learn and comprehend that you can do things in your own way, in your own pace.

4350.png hey there! i would appreciate any sci-fi book recommendations, hit me up if you feel like it! (unrelated to the picture of barry bee benson)
yeah lmao approximately half (ok 1/3 at this point, i think) my lair are fandragons except. like. not of major characters and hoo BOY do i have a crisis half the time trying to find dragons who aren’t, in fact, actually connected to at least one fandragon. which is, uh, a lost cause.

…this is worse whenever it’s a lore share thread because oh no, my hyperfixations are on full blast

and yeah while i have a buncha actual completed outfits they’re. very much not as elaborate as a lotta other users’ designs ++ whoops, my personal aesthetic is so far off the actual site aesthetic why do i do this. god help me now i guess

at this point i just yell i am cringe but i am free and slam that submit button before i’m able to chicken out tbh

I totally get that feeling. Sometimes I'll type up a post, or start to share my dergs then completely delete it before posting cause I'm just like "why bother"

But all dragons are worth sharing - even if they don't have expensive apparel or UMAs or anythin fancy! Personally, I think a dragon with 3 or 4 really solid apparel pieces looks better than a dragon completely covered in 10-15 apparel piececs, but of course, it's all up to personal taste. Just pointing out that you don't even need a lot of items to make a look work!

Showing off cool gene combos or unique colors is just as good as showing off outfits, so whatever you choose I guarantee there'll be folks out there who appreciate it :3

There have been times when this feeling nags at me a little, but at the end of the day it's always good for both you and me to remember that FlightRising is what you make of it. Some players enjoy the dress-up aspect of it, others enjoy the lore, some are off fighting the good fight in dom battles and then there's the group that just wants to vibe with some dragons. c:

I'm similar in that I don't really dress up my dragons in a whole bunch of expensive things-- although a big part of that is because I'm simply not that big on dressing up to begin with. I enjoy seeing dragons as sentient beings who, at the end of the day, are still wild at their core and have little need for such things. That being said if the outfit is cool enough or I feel like it really benefits the dragon's character, I'll indulge in some dressing up haha. My tastes may not match the majority of FR's, but they remain my own. I choose to not feel bad for liking what I like and being happy with the dragons I have.

FlightRising is your experience to tailor and enjoy in the way that you want to! Self acceptance and confidence will come in time, but in the meanwhile, it can't hurt to give yourself a positive reminder now and again.

I don't really ever feel like that. Even if a dragon isn't finished, I still like them a lot and have no problem sharing my plans for them with scries/outfit plans.

You also don't have to dress your dragons or clutter them up if you don't want to! The majority of people will not pay it any mind if your dragons are dressed up or not.
exactly! i never feel ashamed of my dragons because they either already look the way i want them to, or they're a project and i'm working on getting them to look the way i want them to. what does it matter what other people's dragons look like? your goal should be to make dragons that make you happy :) this game is not a competition!

No dragon is inferior to someone else's dragon, and there's no wrong way to play this game. What's important is that you're having fun with your own dragons, whether they be triple basic or covered in all 20 outfit slots.

I think it's best if you don't compare your dragons to other people's if it's upsetting you. There's no penalty to not being 'enough'. It's alright to just Be.

My lair is a mess, but it's my mess, and I love it.
