Flight Rising Discussion

I originally was in water which I chose because I liked the little lore blurb that was in the sign up pick an element screen, and guardians were my fave starter dragon at the time. I ended up switching though because the community wasn't really for me.

I switched to ice. I chose ice because I liked the aesthetic even though the lore wasn't my fave. Also something called to me about ice and I am not sure why. Ice has some negatives for me, but I quite like ice in general. If I switch it would probably be for a vacation and I would likely return to ice. I have thought about switching to light, plague, arcane, wind, earth, and/or fire, but overall I think ice is the place for my lair to stay.

I picked wind initially because I liked the freedom aspect of it! I've visited other flights before, but I've always come home to wind. Also I've grown to really love our aesthetic and I don't think I could leave if I had to haha. wind flight best flight

when i first joined FR i was really torn between wind and light. both aesthetics were choice, and it ultimately came down to me preferring the pale green of wind flight to the yellow of light flight, and preferring just the teensiest bit the aesthetic of wind with the bamboo etc etc.

i took a little vacation in light after my first year in wind, and really enjoyed myself but missed wind. however the time i was gone was also a time of big FR culture changes, which caused me to feel more disconnected from my original home flight. that year was the year that most flight chatter moved out of the forums (which were always hopping in wind in 2015) and into discord (which was so so fast and easy to get lost with). light felt smaller, and a little slower, and i truly enjoyed the dom culture in light more than in wind. i had found a little niche that i fit into perfectly in light, and so after one more year in wind i moved back to light permanently.

i still don't really hang out in the discord or anything, i always feel so out of the loop because it goes so fast and you can't really "catch up" the same way you can with a forum (and being able to catch up makes me feel less like i've missed everything), but even still i've found a nice little home here and haven't regretted it at all. i miss wind sometimes, but the wind i miss hasn't existed in 6 years, so even if i went back i'd still miss it XD and it's not like i don't talk to my wind friends anymore or anything.

picked on vibes and then oh, whoops, the community's great. probably would be in plague by now if not for the fact that i don't want to leave wind's community, honestly.

fire's fest takes place during my bday! i love the aesthetic and the eyes, especially the primal type, even if i rarely have dragons nest now lol ;'p

Started in Wind because the aesthetic and lore fit the best with me out of all the flights. Then I moved to Lightning for the eye color and unexpectedly ended up feeling right at home here! I could never go back even for a vacation because....eye color pretty...also 6 months is such a long time....

ive always been drawn to fire themes, plus my favorite color as of right now is orange so it came naturally- and i dont dislike the primal so :)
