Someone with some grasp of economics help me here;

I'm just thinking... People are buying a lot of the new auras, and I was just wondering if they are actually going to get, like, Halo expensive or not.

Theres certainly the demand for that, sure, but is the supply going to be small enough to drive the prices up? The light halo is pretty much the most versatile thing, and the light aura is pretty and simple enough to emulate that. Or maybe people are buying a lot, but still not enough to keep the price reasonable? idk.

I'm selling the ones I buy now, but I'm absolutely gonna stack a bunch for the future as well [/quote] there may be a lot of light auras being created, but there are also a LOT of dragons- theres 1,722,312 unexalted light dragons (not including lightweaver, lol). if users wanted a light aura for even 1/100th of those, thats 17,224ish dragons that would need to get one (no way to know what the actual statistic would be, but im just being hypothetical). and thats only 1/100th of light dragons, not including the other ten flights. i dont think they will get to the same level as the halo, at least not nearly as fast (i agree they arent really on the same level as far as versatility goes). i think the halos hit a surprise spike in demand after the window to get them closed. people preemptively buying a lot of light auras will keep prices pretty low for a while, but as time goes on i definitely think that price will go up eventually. OR it will go the way of most other fest apparel and the demand will be surprisingly low and they'll stay cheap forever- thats happened before with some pieces people were expecting to raise in value! but just from the responses ive seen i think people like them. they tie in with the aesthetic pretty well. edit: i apologize for this being so long, i kind of just wrote as i was thinking lol

Oh yeah, I'm expecting the auras to be a pretty decent chunk, that's why I'm getting a lot of them. I missed out on the halos to I'm hoping to make a bit of that potential profit back, plus I just like them and don't wanna have to pay triple digits later. I do know it won't be as much as the halos but I estimate it'll definitely be above average.

They'll definitely be higher than other fest apparel (light stuff usually is), but definitely not to the halo extent as others have said. They will likely spike immediately after the fest ends when people rush to grab a few more copies off AH, but then the price increase should be more slow going forward.

We never really know for sure, especially if there are a bunch of people stocking up on them. If there are a zillion available in the future, the price won't go that high. It definitely won't hit halo levels.

Honestly I'm just buying a bunch because whee sparkly dragons!

With how popular the Aura is, it'll probably have the knock-on effect of making the familiar and the Compass more expensive as well, since people won't be spending as much of their limited currency on those items in favor of stocking up on Auras = fewer in circulation overall.

I don't think it'll be as expensive as the Light Halo, but it'll probably be pricy.
