So recently FR has been a huge part of my day and I've really been working on buying genes and apparel for my dragons, and while they all look Very pretty it's quickly burning a hole in my pocket. Because of this I've been thinking about switching to Earth for the dom benefits, but I'm wondering if it'd be worth it for that alone? I'm content in Shadow and I can always come back later (the 1500g price tag scares me as someone not in a position to pay for gems), but I'm wondering if dom benefits really make that much of a difference, esp when I'm buying pricey gene scrolls and such.
TLDR: Projects are expensive. Is the dom bonus from being in Earth enough to justify switching for that reason alone?

I was in Earth from November until last week and I definitely appreciated the discounts. I didn't buy many genes but I think if that's your goal, it's worth it!

If you're just looking at switching to Earth for the dom benefits + being able to pay for your projects, then you can probably just stay in Shadow. There are a lot of people that host dom shops in the items for sale forum, where you can buy genes and whatnot at dom discounted prices without actually being in Earth.
But if you genuinely like the community and appreciate the other benefits of being in a dom heavy flight, like extra gathering turns and discounted lair space purchasing and whatnot, then I'd say go ahead and make the switch!

SweetieSylveon I think the dom discounts would probably be great, but they wouldn't apply for gem genes anyways! Dom discounts only affect items in the treasure marketplace. And besides, I just always use a dom shop. They're always in the Items for Sale forum, and you just send a person with an active dom shop the money you need for discounted treasure scrolls and they'll pm you back your items. I've never had any problems with them, even though it's a little scary to send your money to a stranger haha. A lot of them have hundreds of pages of transactions though, so I feel like that adds some reassurance.
The best reason to switch would probably be for discounted lair expansions, since those get pretty pricey, especially when you have a lot of slots already.

I really enjoy all of dom's benefits, I mostly just mentioned prices since it's most relevant to me currently, but thank you for giving me the little push that it'll all be ok. A number of scrolls I'm looking at are in the Treasure Marketplace and most (if not all) of the apparel on planned outfits, so it just seems better overall price-wise as well as lair and gathering perks.
