The first thing about picking a flight is to understand that the flight you join really affects cosmetic things, such as dragon eye color, nest and lair appearance, hatchlings, etc. The flight you pick also determines the flight forum you can access. Please keep in mind, that although a flight's population might be quite large, this is not an accurate reflection of their forum activity. If you'd prefer a flight that's friendly, and has a small community, earth is a very good place to look at. If you want a really big community, that's also friendly, wind is a good one too. This guide was created for new members to help them make the best choice on which flight to join, based on cosmetics, and population.

This is a really neat reference for all the little Flight aesthetics. As someone who just had to pick their Flight I would like to thank you.

This really needs a sticky. This helped me choose the aesthetic I would enjoy the most as a new member after I found the bamboo themes of wind weren't to my liking.

(at the risk of sounding like an utter noob.....I originally thought flights determined what dragons you were capable of breeding and I wanted to breed an oriental dragon like the wind god dragon-hence me choosing wind)

In retrospect, perhaps a 'flight speciality' breed per flight would be pretty cool eventually.....However, knowing exactly how your flight choice effects the look of your game later is really helpful. Thanks again for the info!

@tabby003 I really wish that the site would explain how your flight effects game play, it's not fair that newbies go in uniformed like this.

I honestly didn't know flights were what caused dragon eye colors..a lot of my friends who've played for months said it had to do with tertiary colors, but now I see it makes more sense for the flight. Thank you for this!
