Hi everyone! My name is Arty and this is my first ever FR guide. Transmuting allows you to turn any food, material, apparel, familiar or other item into a random coloured transmutation. Some colours are rarer than others. For food, material and other reductions the order of rarity is (green – yellow – orange – red – purple – blue) with blue being the rarest. For apparel the rarity order is (grey – white – black). For Familiars the order is (copper – silver – gold). The other option is crafting which allows you to use these transmutations along with other items to create rarer and more useful items which can be used or sold. You can even sell base reductions at pretty decent prices, especially reds and purples since those colours are used in a lot of recipes. [emoji=scroll 2 size=1] Transmutation Percentages & Outcomes [emoji=scroll 2 size=1] Any item you input into Baldwin's Brew has a random chance of producing any colour. Familiars and Apparel can help but if you don’t have many to spare then don’t worry about them for now. Each day you check in to FR remember to transmute 1 or 2 items from any of those categories. It takes 30 minutes to transmute each item. Every time you do you will earn 15xp. I’m not getting the transmutations that I need, how do I make sure I get the right one? Unfortunately you can’t manipulate the transmute objects tab to force a needed colour… but you can make your own colours. If you make it to level 10 you can use the colours you already have to craft the colours you need. You will need to tough it out until then if you’re not quite lv.10 but I’ve made a guide to help you push through until you reach that point. I don't have enough money to buy apparel or familiars, what do I do? It happens sometimes, especially if you're new or don't spend much time each day on the site. There are a few ways to get familiars without spending money. Gathering each day provides a chance in all areas to find certain familiars. They're plentiful in the food gathering areas especially. Chests also have a chance to drop familiars and apparel. Apparel is very common in chests as a matter of fact. You can get chests from Digging/Scavenging as well as from Bonding with familiars. Bonding is the method I use mostly which gains a majority of my resources for Baldwin's. The last method is battling in the Coliseum. Familiars and apparel occasionally drop there, even more so during seasonal events like Sunparched prowl and Springswarm. Varying your activities raises your chance of gaining useful items so if you have the time for it, poke around the site for a bit and over time you'll slowly gain more and more resources. Level Guide------ [emoji=red vial size=1] Lv.1
You only have access to 6 recipes. Keep transmuting your resources along the way when you can. At lv.2 you can make Feathercroaks which tend to sell well and will give you 175xp which is fantastic since you only need 400xp for lv.3. You can use the beakers you made at lv.1 to make them and you will also need at least 1 copper muck which can be obtained by transmuting a familiar.

[item=Harlequin Feathercroak] [item=sable feathercroak] Harlequin Feathercroak = 175XP/2h 1000[emoji=treasure size=1] [item=copper muck]x1[item=green goo]x3[item=orange sludge]x1[item=glass beaker]x1 Sable Feathercroak = 175XP/2h 1000[emoji=treasure size=1] [item=copper muck]x1[item=yellow ooze]x2[item=red goo]x1[item=glass beaker]x1
[emoji=red vial size=1] Lv.3
At lv.3 you’ll get 13 new recipes. You’ll also now have access to almost all event crafting during each festival. You can craft skins and currency. I’d still recommend crafting beakers and the occasional Feathercroak at this stage. Generally it’s best to opt for the cheapest items and save your valuable reductions for later or for sale in the AH. It will take 700xp for the next level. Lv. 3-5 is a bit of a drag, but it’ll be worth it.
[emoji=red vial size=1] Lv.4
At lv.4 you can craft a bunch of apparel and battle items. Keep at transmutation with your raw items. You can sell red goo and purple sludge if you want too as they always sell for decent prices. You’ll need 1,100xp to reach the next level. Don’t lose faith. If you find you have the resources try crafting the higher yielding items like Feathercroaks, otherwise just idly transmute in the background. Festivals are your best bet to gain xp at this stage, especially skins and currency which are usually cheap to craft and yield decent XP returns.
[emoji=red vial size=1] Lv.5
At lv.5 you’ll finally be in a good spot. You can get easy XP from the Eyewear items. They’re cheaper than Feathercroaks (in terms of items needed) and give 200xp each. They also have a decent sale value so you’ll make your money back while you craft. It’s 1,600xp to the next level so it should be a breeze. No need to worry about Caimans unless you want them for your own collection. They take a long time to make and are heavy on materials.

[item=Alchemist Eyewear] [item=Orange Protective Eyewear][item=black Protective Eyewear][item=green Protective Eyewear][item=pink Protective Eyewear][item=white Protective Eyewear] Alchemist Eyewear = 200XP/2h 50min 1200[emoji=treasure size=1] [item=grey slime]x2[item=yellow goo]x4[item=broken bottle]x5 Orange Protective Eyewear = 200XP/2h 50min 1200[emoji=treasure size=1] [item=grey slime]x1[item=orange goo]x3[item=broken bottle]x5 Black Protective Eyewear = 200XP/2h 50min 1200[emoji=treasure size=1] [item=black slime]x1[item=red goo]x3[item=broken bottle]x5 Green Protective Eyewear = 200XP/2h 50min 1200[emoji=treasure size=1] [item=grey slime]x1[item=green goo]x5[item=broken bottle]x5 Pink Protective Eyewear = 200XP/2h 50min 1200[emoji=treasure size=1] [item=grey slime]x2[item=blue goo]x1[item=broken bottle]x5 White Protective Eyewear = 200XP/2h 50min 1200[emoji=treasure size=1] [item=white slime]x1[item=purple goo]x2[item=broken bottle]x5
[emoji=red vial size=1] Lv.6
At lv.6 you’ll get a whopping 18 new recipes here. Plenty of choices and leveling up should get a bit easier because now you have Kelpies. Kelpies take a long time to make but are GREAT if you want to craft and then leave for a day because they give 900xp each. You will need to transmute familiars to make them as you need copper and silver muck. Or you could buy supplies from the AH. It’s up to you. You’ll need 2,200xp to level up.

[item=Kelpie] [item=swamphaunt kelpie] Kelpie = 900XP/8h 20min 2000[emoji=treasure size=1] [item=silver muck]x1[item=copper muck]x1[item=orange goo]x2 Swamphaunt Kelpie = 900XP/8h 20min 2000[emoji=treasure size=1] [item=silver muck]x1[item=copper muck]x1[item=green ooze]x3
[emoji=red vial size=1] Lv.7
At lv.7 you get 9 new recipes. Things start becoming more expensive here. If you want to make good cash money then you should ignore everything and focus on making the 2 skinks because those are some hard to make rare reptiles. But boy do they sell well, usually ranging from 200-500kt and 200-400g in the AH depending on the time of year. If you want to keep leveling however you can try making Marsh Frog Companions or continue to make Kelpies. You need 2,200xp to level up.

[item=Marsh Frog Companion] Marsh Frog Companion = 1200XP/10h 3100[emoji=treasure size=1] [item=grey slime]x1[item=silver muck]x1[item=orange sludge]x2[item=green sludge]x3[item=redwood kindling]x5
[emoji=red vial size=1] Lv.8
At lv.8 you get 10 more recipes. Marsh Frog Companions are still the best source of xp at this level, as with kelpies and any previous items mentioned. You’ll need 3,700xp to level up.
[emoji=red vial size=1] Lv.9
At lv. 9 you ironically get 9 new recipes. None of which are super helpful for maxing out your xp. In other words, keep pumping out those frogs. You’ll need 4,600xp to level up.
[emoji=red vial size=1] Lv.10
At lv.10 you’ll be in a perfect position. You new whipper snappers have it easy, back in my day we had to rely on luck and hope we got the right materials, but now you can just straight up craft them. You get 44 new recipes to mess with in this level so have fun. Oh and don’t forget to keep cranking out those frogs. You need 5,600 xp to level up, but it should be a bit easier now.
[emoji=red vial size=1] Lv.11
At lv.11 you get 12 new recipes. You can try messing around here. Some people prefer the frogs while others prefer Iron/Rusty Golems. It boils down to what resources you have the most of and/or can obtain the easiest. Both have a similar time/exp yield but it’s worth testing out to see what you prefer. You’ll need 6,700xp to level up.

[item=Iron Golem] [item=Rusty Golem] Iron Golem = 600XP/5h 30min 5000[emoji=treasure size=1] [item=copper muck]x1[item=silver muck]x1[item=red ooze]x2[item=pickaxe]x3[item=glass beaker]x1 Rusty Golem = 600XP/5h 30min 5000[emoji=treasure size=1] [item=copper muck]x1[item=gold muck]x1[item=red sludge]x2[item=rusty pickaxe]x3[item=glass beaker]x1
[emoji=red vial size=1] Lv.12
At lv.12 you get 13 new recipes. Reinforced glass beakers can be a good source of xp and income if you want to go incrementally at this level. They usually sell around 20k each and you make 2 at a time so that’s 40k each time. You may have noticed all the new frog friends you can make by now but guess what? You can make a toad friend too! Toad companions are one of the cheaper ones to make and they give the best amount of xp over time. Bye bye Marsh Frog friends and hello toad boys. You’ll need 7,900xp to level up.

[item=Reinforced Glass Beaker] Reinforced Glass Beaker = 220XP/1h 20min 250[emoji=treasure size=1] [item=orange goo]x2[item=red goo]x2[item=broken bottle]x4 ----- [item=Toad Companion] Toad Companion = 1450XP/10h 3200[emoji=treasure size=1] [item=copper muck]x2[item=orange goo]x3[item=green ooze]x3[item=heartred croaker leg]x5
[emoji=red vial size=1] Lv.13
At lv.13 you get 8 new recipes. Serpentas can now be crafted and they’re fairly good if you can’t afford toads. An army of toads sounds cooler though, but hey, don’t let me swing you. Pick whatever works for you (it’s the toads). Fine Alchemical Reduction can also be crafted now and it’s a fantastic source of money. Often selling at a very high price depending on the AH sales at the time. You’ll need 9,200xp to level up.

[item=fine alchemical reduction] Fine Alchemical Reduction = 300XP/2h 250[emoji=treasure size=1] [item=yellow goo]x2[item=purple sludge]x2[item=reinforced glass beaker]x1 ----- [item=Acid-Tongue Serpenta] [item=Marbled Serpenta] Acid-Tongue Serpenta = 850XP/6h 50min 4000[emoji=treasure size=1] [item=copper muck]x2[item=orange ooze]x3[item=yellow goo]x3[item=green sludge]x3 Marbled Serpenta = 8500XP/6h 50min 4000[emoji=treasure size=1] [item=gold muck]x1[item=orange sludge]x3[item=yellow sludge]x3[item=green sludge]x3
[emoji=red vial size=1] Lv.14
At lv.14 you’ll unlock 10 more recipes. They also introduce snakes here in place of toads. But don’t be fooled. Your toad army is superior. Keep em’ coming. There’s plenty of new apparel and other recipes to explore by now so don’t forget to check in and see if there’s other things you want to craft as well. Don’t feel tied to this guide all the time, you’re allowed to have fun and make your own things. When you’re ready, you’ll need 10,600xp to level up.
[emoji=red vial size=1] Lv.15
At lv.15 you’ll unlock 13 new recipes. One more snake… one more traitor. Your toad army is about to be realized though. This is probably the last level you will need them so make sure to thank them for their services when you make it. You’ll need 12,100xp to level up.
[emoji=red vial size=1] Lv.16
At lv.16 my guide is just about done as this is the major ticket item. From here on you should be fine. You’ll unlock 7 new recipes here (not counting event recipes). In order to level up further I highly recommend waiting until elemental festivals from here on. During festivals you can craft Prismatic Tokens for a massive 6,900xp return. They take 4 days to craft so make sure you start crafting them directly on the first day of a festival so you can make 2. This should carry you through to the final levels. If you want to go faster I’ll make a list of items to craft with their corresponding level and xp yield below. This is also the best level for making money. Imbued Sulfur is an excellent way to make money. It usually sells for 150-250kt and around 150-250g roughly. By now you can usually be self sufficient in Baldwin’s. Currently there are 27 levels to unlock but recipes only unlock up to lv 25.

[item=imbued sulfur] Imbued Sulfur = 715XP/5h 50min 1200[emoji=treasure size=1] [item=black slime]x1[item=white slime]x1[item=green ooze]x3[item=blue goo]x1[item=Fine alchemical reduction]x1 ----- [item=prismatic token] Prismatic Token = 6,900XP/96h 25000[emoji=treasure size=1] [item=white slime]x1[item=black slime]x1[item=silver muck]x1[item=gold muck]x1[item=green ooze]x5
Is this the end? Not really. I've lead you to Lv.16 but the levels continue to 27. The last two recipes (at Lv.16) are my personal favourites. As mentioned there's only recipes up to 25 but there's sure to be more in the future. You can keep spamming the previous ones if you like the idea of being a frog/toad lord, or you could try some of the alternatives listed below. You may find items to be cheapr than others based on your current resources and that's perfectly fine. This is just to give you a helping hand if you're low on items and funds. Hopefully you all can make use of this guide. There's probably plenty of other guides like this out there but I just wanted to share the method I used and still use to keep up with the level caps. I'm not super active so I'm glad I found a cheap method for my often poverty stricken lair. Happy crafting!
Hi everyone!

My name is Arty and this is my first ever FR guide. I've put together this guide to help people who are low on time, items and money to level up at Baldwin's.

Many people struggle to find a reason to persist with Baldwin’s when starting from level 1. There’s not many recipe’s and it can take many many hours just to get the right materials. Not to mention the higher up you get, the more expensive it is to craft things with a higher XP gain.

So what’s the point?

Well for starters Baldwin’s can be an incredibly easy resource to generate cash with. You can’t literally create treasure, but you can create valuable items that you can on sell to earn treasure or gems. You can just about run your entire lair off of Baldwin’s with barely any need to use the coliseum or other venues.

How long will it take?

This guide is not a fast tracked guide. This is made for people low on resources so depending on the individual it could take several months or more. If you want to fast track through Baldwin's and have the funds then I suggest @Totsugeki 's guide [here]

How does it work?

Baldwin’s has 2 functions; transmuting and crafting. Transmuting allows you to turn any food, material, apparel, familiar or other item into a random coloured transmutation. Some colours are rarer than others. For food, material and other reductions the order of rarity is (greenyelloworangeredpurpleblue) with blue being the rarest. For apparel the rarity order is (greywhiteblack). For Familiars the order is (coppersilvergold). The other option is crafting which allows you to use these transmutations along with other items to create rarer and more useful items which can be used or sold. You can even sell base reductions at pretty decent prices, especially reds and purples since those colours are used in a lot of recipes.

Transmutation Percentages & Outcomes

How do I start?
To get going you will need a few random food, materials and other items.

Level Guide

Lv.1
You only have access to 6 recipes. In order to preserve your resources for later it’s best to just craft Glass Beakers which give 25xp. You only need 200xp to get to lv.2. Glass beakers can be sold usually around 9-10kt a piece in the AH so if you want to make money on the side they’re a good place to start.

Lv.2
At lv.2 you’ll get 10 new recipes to work with.

Lv.3
At lv.3 you’ll get 13 new recipes. You’ll also now have access to almost all event crafting during each festival. You can craft skins and currency. I’d still recommend crafting beakers and the occasional Feathercroak at this stage. Generally it’s best to opt for the cheapest items and save your valuable reductions for later or for sale in the AH. It will take 700xp for the next level. Lv. 3-5 is a bit of a drag, but it’ll be worth it.

Lv.4
At lv.4 you can craft a bunch of apparel and battle items. Keep at transmutation with your raw items. You can sell red goo and purple sludge if you want too as they always sell for decent prices. You’ll need 1,100xp to reach the next level. Don’t lose faith. If you find you have the resources try crafting the higher yielding items like Feathercroaks, otherwise just idly transmute in the background. Festivals are your best bet to gain xp at this stage, especially skins and currency which are usually cheap to craft and yield decent XP returns.

Lv.5
At lv.5 you’ll finally be in a good spot. You can get easy XP from the Eyewear items. They’re cheaper than Feathercroaks (in terms of items needed) and give 200xp each. They also have a decent sale value so you’ll make your money back while you craft. It’s 1,600xp to the next level so it should be a breeze. No need to worry about Caimans unless you want them for your own collection. They take a long time to make and are heavy on materials.

Lv.6
At lv.6 you’ll get a whopping 18 new recipes here. Plenty of choices and leveling up should get a bit easier because now you have Kelpies. Kelpies take a long time to make but are GREAT if you want to craft and then leave for a day because they give 900xp each. You will need to transmute familiars to make them as you need copper and silver muck. Or you could buy supplies from the AH. It’s up to you. You’ll need 2,200xp to level up.

Lv.7
At lv.7 you get 9 new recipes. Things start becoming more expensive here. If you want to make good cash money then you should ignore everything and focus on making the 2 skinks because those are some hard to make rare reptiles. But boy do they sell well, usually ranging from 200-500kt and 200-400g in the AH depending on the time of year. If you want to keep leveling however you can try making Marsh Frog Companions or continue to make Kelpies. You need 2,200xp to level up.

Lv.8
At lv.8 you get 10 more recipes. Marsh Frog Companions are still the best source of xp at this level, as with kelpies and any previous items mentioned. You’ll need 3,700xp to level up.

Lv.9
At lv. 9 you ironically get 9 new recipes. None of which are super helpful for maxing out your xp. In other words, keep pumping out those frogs. You’ll need 4,600xp to level up.

Lv.10
At lv.10 you’ll be in a perfect position. You new whipper snappers have it easy, back in my day we had to rely on luck and hope we got the right materials, but now you can just straight up craft them. You get 44 new recipes to mess with in this level so have fun. Oh and don’t forget to keep cranking out those frogs. You need 5,600 xp to level up, but it should be a bit easier now.

Lv.11
At lv.11 you get 12 new recipes. You can try messing around here. Some people prefer the frogs while others prefer Iron/Rusty Golems. It boils down to what resources you have the most of and/or can obtain the easiest. Both have a similar time/exp yield but it’s worth testing out to see what you prefer. You’ll need 6,700xp to level up.

Lv.12
At lv.12 you get 13 new recipes. Reinforced glass beakers can be a good source of xp and income if you want to go incrementally at this level. They usually sell around 20k each and you make 2 at a time so that’s 40k each time. You may have noticed all the new frog friends you can make by now but guess what? You can make a toad friend too! Toad companions are one of the cheaper ones to make and they give the best amount of xp over time. Bye bye Marsh Frog friends and hello toad boys. You’ll need 7,900xp to level up.

Lv.13
At lv.13 you get 8 new recipes. Serpentas can now be crafted and they’re fairly good if you can’t afford toads. An army of toads sounds cooler though, but hey, don’t let me swing you. Pick whatever works for you (it’s the toads). Fine Alchemical Reduction can also be crafted now and it’s a fantastic source of money. Often selling at a very high price depending on the AH sales at the time. You’ll need 9,200xp to level up.

Lv.14
At lv.14 you’ll unlock 10 more recipes. They also introduce snakes here in place of toads. But don’t be fooled. Your toad army is superior. Keep em’ coming. There’s plenty of new apparel and other recipes to explore by now so don’t forget to check in and see if there’s other things you want to craft as well. Don’t feel tied to this guide all the time, you’re allowed to have fun and make your own things. When you’re ready, you’ll need 10,600xp to level up.

Lv.15
At lv.15 you’ll unlock 13 new recipes. One more snake… one more traitor. Your toad army is about to be realized though. This is probably the last level you will need them so make sure to thank them for their services when you make it. You’ll need 12,100xp to level up.

Lv.16

Also remember this is not the be all and end all of options.

@Arcticfox98

This is an excellent guide for those who thought my guide was a bit daunting due to items listed being more or less very expensive to make and time consuming (looks at poi/tox). My guide focuses on the highest xp items per level threshold while your's that but with cost efficiency in mind, good job!

there are some few errors like the unicorn horn requiring 10 beakers instead of 1,

Thank you! I really liked your guide so I wanted to be able to direct people there if need be. Now everyone has choices for guides to look at too.

Thank you also for pointing that error out, I completely missed it. It's fixed now.

@maki oh wow that's excellent, I didn't even realize there was a feature for that.

I'll keep the average percentiles there but when I'm next free I'll put that in there too. Thanks for that!

@Arcticfox98 thank you for a great guide! I'm not new on FR and not low on mats, but I'm stingy :) and I do find your guide very useful and thought-out. Thank you again! [emoji=coatl happy size=1]
