TOPIC | [WIP] Mire Flyer restat
1 2
Yes, yes, I know that technically all I need to remember to do is to scratch once on the Furry Fiddle, Muckbottom Catfish, Fungal Garden, and Armored Colony, but you see, I don't want to.

My Flyer is currently running a STR 119 AGI 8 VIT 19 QCK 69 build. I'm going to try tweaking up STR a little at a time to see how much VIT and QCK I can keep until I can rally/elim all the new enemies as well.

Hopefully this won't take more than 2 tinctures (famous last words :'D)

UPDATE: The restat on the Fungal Garden and Armored Colony mean all enemies can now be taken out rally+elim with STR at 120. This makes the first attempt I'd tried (STR 120 | VIT 20 | QCK 67) doable if you don't want to run haste, but I think I'm enjoying my haste build. I'm going to run STR 120| VIT 30 | QCK 62 with haste and see how I like it.

Thank you all for your help and support! Happy flying!

RESTAT TRIAL 1:

STR 120 | VIT 20 | QCK 67

Point allocation to bump STR to 120 left me just shy of being able to get QCK to 68 with VIT at 18, so i opted to dump the remaining 8 points into VIT to make my flyer a bit unnecessarily beefy. Waste not want not.

STAND BY FOR TESTING

RALLY ELIM:
Furry Fiddle
Muckbottom Catfish
Fungal Garden
Armored Colony

MINIMUM STR NEEDED TO RALLY ELIM ALL: 123

If this helps, 123 STR is known to Rally + Eliminate all of them. I can delete this post if needed.

@DarkVixen - no worries! it does help!

Do you know if 123 is the lowest needed to take out the Fungal Garden and Armored Colony?

Keeping an eye on this thread -- I'm busy the next few days or I'd try to help too, but I'm entirely with youy. I -could- just scratch+eli, but i like the speed and cleaness of solely eliminating :(
Hopefully there will be a tidy way to get back to just eliminating without damaging too much else :)

RESTAT TRIAL 2: NEED FOR SPEED
STR 123 | VIT 30 | QCK 56

I've seen the squishy 123/18/62 build mentioned as a possible substitute by others, with its main issues being cited as needing to restart more often and not being recommended for leveling fodder past 5 or 6. I do prefer leveling to 7 though, so I want to see if that can be improved on.

The dip to QCK might be more do-able with haste in addition to rally, which I'll be running some tests with next. I'd previously been running my flyer with sap, because I'm a fool, and because 69 was enough QCK to run without haste. However, using that first ambush jump on hasting and rallying might necessitate taking a hit or two.

Since at level 25, 1 haste adds 30 QCK, I should be able to take a sizable hit to the QCK score and still be able to hit the minimum 69 that keeps my flyer ahead of the packs. This is good, since it does give me the chance to crank the VIT up a bit. And I trust if I can be taught to rally round one, I can learn how to haste and then rally. For now, I'm going to try some rounds with 30 VIT/56 QCK to see how it holds up

STAND BY FOR TESTING

Notes so far:
  • Hasting the first round in several packs just completely 'refunds' the turn I spent hasting.
  • After I have the breath set up, in packs of 3 fast physical attackers, I've often enough been able to still take out 1 or 2 of them before the remaining enemies get a turn, which is pretty much the same as my old non-haste build went before
  • I've been able to get fodder to 7 without needing to restart, though that may be luck from the packs hitting the fodder instead of my flyer. More tests are needed for this
  • Running with the haste, I'm still only seeing a couple packs get one to two hits in on average. Ignoring the first round where I'm building breath, I haven't had an enemy be able to hit more than once before finishing the round. The VIT increase is very noticeable from 19 to 30 - I can easily take the occasional hit that goes to my flyer and not my fodder.
  • Still can't take out the Wartoads, but that was never the intention with my flyer
  • I did have to refresh on a few physical starting packs, and on some non-mage mobs if i missed more eliminates than a couple scratches could make up for.
  • I think the only mobs I'm having trouble with as far as dodging and speeding goes are new enemies. The wolves and the armadillos are quite fast. So far I'm liking the build I have here, though I might at some point try dropping my VIT a bit and bringing my QCK up a notch or two.
I still want to do a few solo runs to see how many rounds my Flyer can go before needing to restart without fodder soaking up potential hits. I'd also like to try a few different starting pack configurations to see if refreshing on physical packs is necessary

I can't wait to see how your trials go. I use both haste and rally myself, so I'm more interested in a bulkier slower build that uses haste to negate the hit to QCK. I want to be able to rally and elim all enemies, so 123 STR is essential for me personally.
