Title says it all. We all have those movies that we enjoy, but everybody else seems to hate on for one reason or another. Those people could be perfectly valid in their opinion, but there’s just something in those movies that you personally enjoy.

So yeah, what are the movies that you like but everybody else hates?

I have quite a few actually.

X-Men 3: The Last Stand; There are quite a few problems with this movie, but I do find enough scenes and characters that I like that I’m perfectly happy to sit down and watch it. Kelsey Grammer’s Beast in particular was a really great part of the movie; I could watch his scenes over and over.

Maleficent; A lot of people poop on this movie but I personally can’t see why. It’s beautiful to look at and it gives a neat spin on a story we all know. People’s main complaint is that it completely ruined the characters from the original Sleeping Beauty, but I never grew up with that movie so I don’t have much of a problem with it. :p

The Percy Jackson Movies; Unpopular opinion time! I actually think these movies are pretty fun. Kinda like with Maleficent, I never read the books and once I do my opinion on the movies might change, but for now I just think that they’re fun adventures. Plus the second one has Nathan Fillion in it and I can’t think of a single reason why that is a bad thing.

@Woodenclaw

Truth time, I have never really liked Sleeping Beauty. How boring can you get? She's asleep! What's the motive? Why should I care?

... but Maleficent? LOVED IT. I watched it twice in a row and I never do that. So I'm happy to meet another fan. ♥ Also liked the X-Men movies and I have read many of the older comics. They do plenty of AUs in X-men, so why not?

Jeez, I like a lot of stuff people probably think is stupid. Here's a good one - National Treasure. Ridiculous? Yes. Fun? Also yes. As long you're laughing and having a good time, what's wrong with that? ;)

You know all those B-movies that are rated as the most horrible things on earth? I like them.

I like them for comedic value, but I like them nonetheless.

My writing project.
I'm actually surprised that there are people who don't like National Treasure, though? Like yes, it's completely ridiculous, but I thought it was widely agreed to be the good, fun kind of ridiculous and the only Nicholas Cage movie anyone actually liked.

Also, Maleficent was great to me. Sleepy Beauty has never been my number one favorite fairy tale but I really did love this adaptation. As far as 'ruining the characters' from the original go, I mean, original isn't really a word that applies here? The fairy tale has been around for centuries and has been changed and adapted god knows how many times. The animated Disney film (and the version of the story it's based on) is probably the best known version but there's room for different versions, ruined or otherwise.

I think other movies I liked that no one else did are probably the Underworld series (including Rise of the Lycans), Skinwalkers, Van Helsing...honestly, probably most vampire or werewolf movies that no one liked. I'm a sucker for them, I don't care. :D

Lady and the Tramp 2:

Believe it or not this is one of my favorite Disney sequels. I watched both movies over and over again when I was growing up and while I'll don't think you can ever recapture the magic and gravity of a movie like the original L&T the sequel was heck-bent and determined to try its hardest.

I was honestly kind of forlorn when I went to read about it on the internet and heard descriptive words like 'forgettable' being used. I have a feeling some people are bitter about it being a screwball adaption of a comic with Scamp in it or something, but I never knew about that so it didn't effect my perception of the thing. =P

Overall though, it's got cute characters (Angel oommmg I named my own dog after that chick), a solid story and music that does its best to follow up on the mood and feel of the original movie. Sometimes it also crosses my mind that the reason this movie is so unpopular is because no one has seen it, not many people seem to realize L&T has a sequel at all.

I loved Maleficent!

And a movie that got TRASHED in the reviews called like....I think it was Jack the Giant Slayer? something like that. I watched it with my old man, which might have been why I enjoyed it so much.

People hate on Maleficent? WHY? It's SUCH a great movie. I've never actually seen the original Sleeping Beauty… but I do know the story, and thought it was a great spin. And I absolutely adore antihero protagonists like Maleficent. Plus the special effects (especially the flying scenes) were so cool.

I have mixed opinions on the Percy Jackson movies. They're enjoyable and the actors are great, but they're so far from the original books it's not even funny. So meh. Same thing with Guardians of Ga'Hoole. That movie completely murdered the original story, then resurrected it and murdered it some more. But I thoroughly enjoyed it at the same time.

One of my favorite movies is The Sorcerer's Apprentice, which I don't see a lot of praise for. I don't see a lot of hate for it, either, but Nicholas Cage does have a main role, so many people may not like it for that reason. I for one, thought he did fantastic in his role. :P

I happened to like the first Smurfs movie for some reason. To this day, I still have no idea why I even found it cute as I did find it somewhat annoying at the time. XD

The History of Future Folk. everyone i've shown it to hates it, and i can see why: it's obvy low-budget, tho still well done, and there are some parts that just make me go UM. but the music is fantastic and the story is really sweet and the humor is on point. i'm srsly considering getting it on dvd, but don't see the point if i have no one to watch it with.

also Maleficent was great, what the heckle

The Green Lantern movie! It was awesome. But haters gonna hate. Doesn't make the movie any less awesomesauce in my eyes. :)

Also, most people think I'm way too old to love Alvin and the Chipmunks as much as I do. Although I actually don't like the entire movies, I just like Simon and am willing to sit through the entire movies just because I think Simon is cool.
