Try taking deep breaths, go for a walk outside too. I find that works for mine.

Don't worry about it. Silly Arcade's just telling magnetic field jokes for his own amusement.

First you gotta tell yourself that you're NOT gonna die. The worst that will happen is you'll pass out if you hyperventilate. I know it's hard to think that, but you just gotta keep telling yourself that.

As for what I do, I have to get outside asap, and find a tree. Instead of focusing on what's wrong, and to keep my mind from wondering to every bad thing, I focus on the tree. It's my way of grounding myself. I just focus on the bark of the tree. I follow those lines and block out everything else. :>

Man that sucks, I'm sorry! I haven't had any particularly bad panic attacks for a couple years but back when I had them I thought I was having a heart attack or something. Focusing on taking long breaths and breathing out for longer than I breath in helped me, although sometimes it would take a while to kick in.

Another thing I would do was to insult my brain. Like: "Wow way to go amygdala you piece of crap. I'm so glad you are flipping the **** out right now as I am trying to sleep. I love feeling like I'm dying." Getting irritated usually helps me to separate myself from the anxiety a bit and calm down faster. Kind of like swearing when you get hurt or something.

Hope things get better for you regardless of the method used!

@LunaFayeLyn If you don't mind me asking... just ignore this if you do, I won't be offended haha c: but I was wondering, why do you have to go to the ER for your panic attacks? I have panic attacks, but depression is more my thing, so these panic attacks are a pretty recent development, within the last several months. I'm really REALLY struggling with them so...I was just wondering if it's helpful haha.

I slowly rip up something made of cloth, such as pillows, and then punch it.

For me it was simply a matter of recognizing them as panic attacks and thus nothing to fear. Yes, it isn't a pleasant feeling, but it will pass. It sounds like you have already taken the step to be medically checked out and rule out something serious, so all that is left is to not feed into the adrenaline rush of your body's false alarm. When you start to feel one coming on make a point to tell yourself, this is just a panic attack.

What I like to do is try and isolate myself and remove myself from any stimuli intitially. Then, I like to have like a really good friend or family member with me to keep me 'grounded', so to speak.

Once I've gotten past the initial bit, such as hyperventilating and etc, whatever the symptoms may be, I'll just try and have a light conversation with a friend, or if I'm alone, I play a relaxing game with lots of positivity in it; such as Animal Crossing. The music is soothing, you get to do things such as fish, or catch bugs, or just run around and talk to the villagers.
I find that nice.

If needed, I may nap, or just... yeah.

Another thing to do in the moment is try and take deep breaths and imagine anything that relaxes you. Whether it's the ocean meeting the shore, your pets, or anything.
Also, maybe try coming on here if you like. I've seen some users do that, and the community has always come to their side to help them out. (:

My dog is unintentionally trained to interrupt hyperventilation. He'll run over when he hears the sound and shove his tongue in my mouth. It disrupts the hyperventilation enough to get a grip and try to breathe normally. Then I pet him to try and ground myself.

One method I've heard is to describe the room in your head in detail to try and bring yourself back out. Describe the furniture in colors and textures, how warm or cold is the room, is it dark or light, that kind of thing.
