Well yes, I do because if I didn't then they'd be nothing more than blank slates with every other attribute except the one that breathes life into them. They need a personality. Why have ocs if you're not going to complete them

Well yeah, otherwise I'd have characters without character.

well the whole point of having a semi-sentient being is to have a personality (or notable lack thereof). o:

ok i know everyone else is saying ocs by definition need to have personalities, but i totally understand what you're saying. i have a hard time coming up with personalities for my ocs and a lot of my characters are unfinished, or i only know a few things about them and i don't bother to develop them further. sometimes i wait for them to "reveal" more about themselves and i don't actively try to develop their personalities, if that makes sense.

I do agree with all of you ;-; although I've always only been able to think of the visual part of designing ocs and pretty much nothing else about them ^^; Or maybe without a personality they're just designs? ;-;

I can relate to that ;v; I'd say that most of my ocs are unfinished ideas in my head but were only ever designs. I tried to think of personalities for them but I couldn't think of anything .-. and yes what you said makes sense to me :)

I think of personality way before design so I guess we're on opposite sides of the spectrum! I'm terrible at design actually! You should find someone to collab with, that would help you out a lot. Think of it like a comic writer and artist team.

...what's the point of an oc that DOESN'T have a personality??

The fun of designing what they look like, of course!
But yes OP, or at least I try
