not in the fandom? I'm curious. I know a lot of people enjoy Steven Universe, for example, but dislike the fandom. For me it's Dr Who and Supernatural. I wouldn't set foot in the fandom but I do like the shows..... Okay not as much with Supernatural (the two main characters are my least favorite in the show XD) but it's still a decent form of entertainment.
So what things do you like that you aren't a member of their fandom? I just wondered because it would be really nice to talk to people who like the same things I do but aren't rabid fangirl/boys/others. Like I don't get your obscure reference to one single episode in a show that has been running for 50 years but boy do i like your TARDIS pencil case.

I love the warrior cats series but I will never be a part of the fandom, they are mostly dramatic teenagers with entitlement problems xD Not all, but most.

Undertale (ive seen a couple lets plays of it. The characters seem sweet but I can't stand the fans)
Hannibal (I have no excuse other than the two stars are hot)
Harry Potter (I grew up with the books but now that im an adult I see they have a lot of problems and the characters aren't as good as I remembered them. Needless to say im kicked out if the fandom for that)

The undertale fandom seems to be evenly divided between the crazies and the chill ones.

And I rarely reference it in day-to-day life, and when I do, it's for myself. (Oops) I don't own any merch because I don't want to be associated with the fandom in any way, and if I find someone with merch (like a shirt) with something I like in public or at school, I can't bring myself to go up and talk to them.
Rabid fans scare me, but if I find someone on FR with common interests I'll probably discuss it with them!

Mynty all my merch is from presents. The only merch i got for myself was some Dr Who really pretty fabric I made into a skirt. But generally if I am wearing fandom merch its because its the last clean thing in my closet XD

I refuse to get involved in fandoms anymore because it's too much drama, gatekeeping, and aggressive policing. I stayed on the outskirts of Welcome to Night Vale fandom a few years back. I had an RP account and avoided most stuff because I was an OC and nobody likes OCs. I still caught lots of drama passing through on my dash, though, and it was enough to convince me not to get involved. Dropped the RP account eventually, too, because people were only interested in RPing smut between canon characters.
I've stayed on the edges of Portal fandom with success. RP'd an OC there with more success, too. Still not really IN it, per se, but I'm more openly a fan. They've had their share of drama, too, but either I was far removed from it or the instances of extreme ugliness were few and far between.
I will lay claim to being in Geekenders fandom, but they have a small fanbase most people know each other so there isn't a ton of drama.
