TOPIC | How I got into dragons
1 2 3
When I was a smol bean child, every weekend my dad would clean the house every Saturday and I would help and we would listen to either, Rush, Tool, Alice In chains, or some other 80's or 90's music. I would always pull out all of his CD's and look at the art work on the covers, well one of them that really interested me was a Rush in Rio cover art. It had a large purple dragon standing in front of a crowd holding a coconut cup, and it had a fruit hat on. Now to my 6 year old mind this was the best piece of art work I had ever seen and wanted to see more of this large purple winged lizard. And a few years later I was introduced to the legend of Spyro, further interesting me in dragons.

So yeah from then on I had a deep interest in dragons and mythical creatures. If I had never discovered that CD I probably wouldn't be drawing dragons to this day. So how did you guys get into dragons or mythical creatures? Let me Know!

How To Train Your Dragon from DreamWorks I believe. I was about 7 years old, my mom took me to the theatre to watch it. Awesome movie, I still love it. XD Anyways, I have always adored dragons since. Just so happened that my best friend saw it the other day too, and I asked, "Do you want to play dragons at recess?" It was a historical quote from me. XD Both of us play Flight Rising today and we both love dragons! :3

80s and 90s music's really good, I'm listening to that a lot more now. I'm getting a lot of old cds off people, it's pretty nice. i got loads of metallica and pearl jam and rhcp and stuff q: i haven't listened to the rhcp stuff yet but i'm loving the pearl jam and metallica!

I don't know... I've just always liked them I guess! I used to have this little book with short stories about dragons and when I was four or five I probably taught myself to read with that thing. Loved it. I had this really cool toy as well, it was a dragon that walked, roared and lit up its eyes and it was the literal best. :D

I had to look up that album cover, it is amazing hahaha.

I definitely remember being tiny and drawing dragons inspired by Spyro, so I guess that Spyro probably played a big part in starting my interest in dragons! Feels like I've always loved them though! Dinosaurs too.

Here is a dragon drawn by 5 year old me:

why do I suddenly have the urge to make a FR version of this

I kinda always liked dragons, in a way, but my obsession didn't start until later. Like... I got a Spyro game with my first Nintendo DS Lite (I think I was 5), and that helped it, but before then I had a dragon book that I had ever since I could remember. I think I remember first reading it when I was 3 and staring in awe at the dragon pictures, and then trying in vain to draw my own dragon as the book instructed me to ("Now, make your own in the space below!" or "What kind of dragon would yours be? Draw it!"). Then, in about 1st grade, the first chapter book I read was a dragon-shaped dragon book written from the point of view from a dragon. In 2nd grade, I wrote a short story with dragons as the main characters. After that, it sorta spiraled until I got an obsession with dragons sometime around last year.

As you can imagine, Flight Rising has only made my obsession all the better. (Meanwhile, dies of laughter from looking up that Rush in Rio cover art)

Oh boy I've been addicted to dragons since I was at least two... I remember going to Toys R Us with my mom and in a little plastic pool I saw a little, blue dragon and immediately fell in love with it. I actually picked it up and immediately ran out of the store, setting off the buzzers.... Yeah, that was a mess. I've been addicted to dragons ever since. I'm fifteen years old now.

A geometric teardrop shaped glass terrarium houses a small replica of the Daylight Sanctum. It's surrounded by autumnal pine trees and sparkles. xx AYRMELTwo small, overlapping brown leaves.

I honestly can't say when I first got interested in dragons--I was so young it just feels like that's been part of my life forever.

PBS was my only tv option as a child, so Dragontales was one of the shows I regularly watched.

I'm like... Fourth generation geek or something. Fantasy and sci-fi was something I knew before I knew anything. Then I got diagnosed with Leukemia at age 4, and it became even more of an escape and it stuck with me ever since.

Dragons just happened to be my favorite mythical creature for as far back as I can remember (you have NO idea how happy I was when I figured out I could take my real name and make the anagram "Brenning Dragonbred").

I can't remember any defining moment or anything, I just know I always liked fantasy stuff, particularly dragons. My brother likes to tell me how before I could even walk, I used to crawl into his room and climb up his dresser to take his dragon figure (I don't remember it, but I think it might have been a D&D model). He had to wait until I fell asleep to get it back. Similarly, my grandfather had an asian dragon knick-knack that I always had to play with when I was over at his house.
