I really REALLY love this site. Back in June or so they launched a kickstarter, reached their goal, hosted a closed beta and now opened the beta!
It's a virtual pet site, but a rather unique one. You put all your energy into one pet at a time instead of a bunch of meaningless ones (though there are ways to get more than one, but the normal way has to do with raising your first pet's stats a certain amount before you're eligible for a second pet)
Basically the story takes place after a cataclysm pretty much tore a giant hole in the fabric of the universe, and only a small remnant of reality was able to be preserved by a hero known as "Hope."
You're a student at a university who is tasked to research these creatures called "Kith," who arrive in waves from this forbidden area called the Tatters. You're able to ally with these Kith, and these Kith progress in stages the more they learn from you. (increasing stats with books, food, toys, etc.) These stages have different looks!
You complete quests and will be able to gain reputation from the shopkeepers!
Another thing I like about this site is that they have crafting skills! They only have cooking right now, but later you will be able to craft your own clothes and probably more things. You can buy food recipes and learn to cook things, which also raises your kith's stats!
You have a customizable human avatar with a clothes layering feature! They have a lot of features on the way in the future. If you want to be a part of something that's probably on its way to become a REALLY great thing in the future, I highly recommend it! It's a nice community-based site and later on members in the community will be able to control where the story goes.
There's not too much content so everything is pretty easy to understand right now, and the lore is just developing. You should join and hitch along for the ride!
