[i]Edit: tidied this up haha[/i] Did you guys watch the Nintendo Direct some hours ago? The game updated and there's lot of new stuff, the main feature is amiibo cards can be used in game to invite villagers to your town! I always see random threads here about the game but they sink too fast or are just about trades...

OBVIOUS SPOILERS! Okay, here is the new stuff:

• The logo in the menu now says "Welcome Amiibo", it's kinda ugly enhh.
  
• The main feature are the Amiibos. You can use the cards to bring the villagers to visit your town on the new site. They will camp and you can buy exclusive items from them with the new currency. You can ask them to move in (if you have 10 villagers already, you'll be able to choose which one will move out). Special characters (K.K, Sahara, etc) won't move to your town, but you still can buy their items. 50 older villagers who didn't feature in NL are now available through cards that will be released in December.
  
• Amiibos from Legend of Zelda and Splatoon can visit your campground too, and bring some exclusive items from their games. Edit: you can get Wolf Link, Ganon, Epona, Medli and the Inkling sisters and an inkling to move to your town.
  
• New currency: MEOW coupons. You get them by completing everyday chores in your town. TPC was updated to show current town initiatives. You use them to buy the exclusive items from the campers. The CAT machine, where you take the coupons, is in front of the town hall. You can exchange coupons for bells on the ABD, 1:3000 ratio.
  
• New site: campground. It's off the map, but I wonder if the placement is different for each town? It's SUPER CUTE AHH, a campfire and logs, birdies and trees, trailer park and an outpost. The guy in the Direct video is here, and he will sell you exclusive items for MEOW coupons. The villagers you invite by cards will appear here in a trailer (you can get inside them to see the items!). You can't plant or drop items in the campground.
  
• Secret storeroom. FINALLY. It's an expansion, 158,000 bells. Will see later how it affects your house and how much extra storage it offers. Edit: it just adds a door next to the light switch in the lower screen that opens the storage. Total space is 360 items! Oh my.
  
• Tom Nook will buy your town if you decide to destroy it, so you can restart the game with some advantage. Can't say how much or what is the criteria for the evaluation. Edit: The tree in your plaza need to be at least level 3 to Nook to offer (tree needs 3 of those "leaf puffs" idk how to call them)
  
• you can link your HHD data for new items. Sweet!
  
• Now able to move your furniture as in HHD by the touch screen. 
  
• You can now directly share your game pictures on Twitter and Facebook. The icon to do it is on the touch screen, next to the emotions' icon.
  
• It probably affected HH Showcase, but I can't say what. I don't have any streetpass stuff. :,)
  
• You can sit on the rocks. Nice. You can also interact with objects in your front while sitting.
  
• Your Dream Adress will reset and you'll have to update it again.
  
• Net glitch to get up the PWPs and under the cliffs was corrected. Duping and hacking items are not working for now either.
  
• Most hacks aren't also usable? You can still mess with the saved files, create coupons and bells, but no items.
  
• You won't be trapped in the multiplayer island anymore if someone doesn't want to go away.
  
• There are two new mini games, you get them on Fortune Cookie items (the Wii U and 3DSXL). There's also Nintendogs furniture, super cute puppers!
  
• Shooting balloons now give you more than balloon furniture.
  
• New animation for some NPCs. New animation for some items too.
  
• Some shading/coloring stuff changed very subtly. Also your designs have different texture when out on the ground outside (a bit sharper) and inside on wall/floor (it looks softer)
  
• Villagers will take more time to move out (my villagers tell me they're moving on 10 days, some people reported it took 7/8/12 days?)

That's it for now? I knew there was an update coming, but I didn't expect this! :0
