Please stay safe! And make sure that you have some supplies like your meds and food for you and your floofers/scalers/feathers! The best policy is to be prepared and try your best to stay safe, don't go in water too deep with a car ((over 1 foot can float a car !)), and make sure that if you plan to evacuate you take some emergency supplies like snackeroos and flashlights/bandages!

Stay safe :3

I remember the year we were hit by Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne and I'm still kinda panicking. Hopefully it will be all hype, like Hermine, who ruined my birthday, last year.

also, if you have pets and need to evacuate, this website has a list of shelters that are pet friendly in all sorts of counties. (also if you have service animals shelters that are not pet friendly are not allowed to deny you access (see section D))

Please be very careful and find a storm shelter if you're still in Florida (edit: and in an area where evacuation orders have been given); too late to evacuate now it seems. Regardless of where it actually makes landfall, Irma is projected to hit with Category 3 winds for a significant part of the west coast and into the central area of the state, and that's enough to pull mobile homes off their foundations and peel gable-end roofs off of buildings (particularly ones built before 1994), and of course flatten many trees. Flying debris will be a serious danger. Punch a hole in the building envelope and the massive wind pressures will blow pretty much any roof off.

O boy Floridian here (who has not evacuated and doesn't truly need to)
Thankfully, if anything goes wrong we have some family somewhere farther up south that won't get hit, so if push comes to shove we can gun it over there.

I remember the worst one for my family though: Hurricane Fay. Totaled our enclosed front porch, stray dogs were everywhere, power was out for a good 4 days...

My house is in a safe zone, Zone C in my county, so no need to evacuate, just need to be prepared...
(I'm actually excited, because a hurricane means that at the tail end of it all, we go for a ride at night and get some food...last time we got Jimmy Johns, wondering what this year will be)
I was truly disappointed in Matthew, wanted to see some action in my neighborhood
