TOPIC | "Unusual" Foods you like?

Okay, call me weird, but I love kipper. You know kipper snacks? They're these fillets of smoked herring in a can. I love kipper. But everyone else in my family doesn't like it at all. They make me eat it away from them because they can't stand it.

What are some "unusual" or "different" foods that you like but no one else seems to?

Frog legs are good.

Most everyone else I know refuses to try them because they're, well, frog.

I like some Filipino foods which are still pretty rare in a lot of the US, mostly the sweets like ube and queso ice cream. Also love red bean paste anything.

I love literally everything that's been mentioned in this thread so far.

I'm trying to think of an unusual food I like. Um... peanut butter and cheese sandwiches? Also gefilte fish. It's an acquired taste, and I have acquired it.

Chicken and ice cream. Not THAT unusual but I have very fond memories

Oh, also jam on meat sandwiches, again not that unusual but sometimes it wigs people out

EDIT: someone on a later page mentioned uncooked ramen and I wholeheartedly agree

I like weird mixes, like beef jerky in ice cream and pickles in mac-n-cheese.

I also like black licorice, lobster ice cream, liver, straight up wasabi, pickled ginger, whole pickled peppercinis, plain Grape Nuts cereal, and probably a heck of a lot more!

Oh, and guacamole on EVERYTHING. Meat, rice, fries, everything.

I like the foods that are "unusual" for people who aren't broke. Like hot dogs in mac and cheese. Or honey in mac and cheese. Or eggs in ramen, but substitute the water with milk.

I love Peruvian food! I lived in Peru for awhile, so I had the chance to try some pretty interesting things. ^^

Among my favorites are anticucho and cuy. Also I LOVE fried squid, lol.

*Anticucho is chunks of cow heart spitted on a bamboo skewer and grilled with amazing sauces.

**Cuy is... well, guinea pig.

Heart, liver, tongue, tendons. Trying to get ahold of decent tripe and a use for. Fish in tins. Raw eggs mixed into rice. Eel, squid. Toast sandwiches. I still eat plain slices of bread and plain white rice as comfort foods.

Canned chicken wigs me out a bit though, dunno why. Mostly the "sauce" that comes with, it normally smells a bit...dead flesh-y
