hi! I'm looking for some video game suggestions because I'm super bored and got a steam gift card recently!
my favorite game genres are indie, horror, simulation, and casual
I love games like slime rancher, undertale, and the sims games as well
bonus points if it has a good story to it! I don't like really difficult games though, I tend to get bored easily if they're too difficult. I also like games with colorful graphics n stuff!

If you have a Windows I'd suggest looking into 1bitheart! It's on the lesser known side, but it has a wholesome story and very cute art! Sadly, it doesn't run on a Mac, though. I'm not sure how difficult it is, but there are guides out there as far as I'm aware.

I think Stardew Velley is a good one! :D It's very nice and relaxing to play! It starts off pretty slow but once you progress, there's so much to do! ^^

Ori and the Blind Forest is a gorgeous platformer game with a good story.

^You play as the white guardian spirit who has to save the forest.
If you can, I would recommend the Definitive Edition

It's not a steam game, but provided you're on a PC you can give OFF a try! (downloadable through the wiki for it). It's a pixelated RPG and it takes roughly six hours to complete (it may take more time depending on how quickly you solve the puzzles)
It's got an interesting story, lots of puzzles (fair warning, you might need a notepad for some of the later ones), and interesting characters. Best of all, it's free! It's one of my favorite games of all time, especially for the soundtrack.
funnily enough it was the battle music that got me into the game to begin with!
Unfortunately the graphics can be a bit bland, color-wise. From what I remember, there are.... 6(?) main colors used in the game. Orange, red, blue, purple, pink, and green. Grayscale is also used heavily in some areas.
this is also a kind of wake up call for myself that I need to replay it
here is a warning though. the game can get... graphic. Not visually or auditory, due to its limited graphics and sounds, but the story delves into some pretty messed up stuff.

If you like horror and you haven't played 999, then you're really missing out. I haven't played Zero Escape or Zero Time Dilemma but I hear those are also good.

*nods vigorously*
Also, another game you could try is OneShot! It's a very meta, fourth-wall-breaking RPG, with a friendly main character and some dark undertones. It's got gorgeous art and fun puzzles, and is definitely worth playing!

Sunless Sea!!! It's an indie horror game set in an underground cavern in which the Victorian city of London has been stolen by bats and you're a ship captain exploring this cavern, it's actually a sequel to the free browser game Fallen London which is also very good
