My big aesthetic is quiet cities in the middle of the night, and runner up is woods/nature trails

Oh those are awesome aesthetics! Vaporwave used to be my favorite when I was first introduced to aesthetic; I loved the whole surreal glitch thing going on. Retro is pretty cool too, even if you didn't grow up in that time, you still get that melancholy feeling :0

I have a lot that I cycle through and they're all sort of specific

On the one hand: a vintage sort of vibe I guess; rooms in old apartments with huge windows late in the afternoon, when the sun hangs low and dyes everything amber, the sky mottled with peachy clouds, old books that have the rich vanilla scent of old paper and someone else's little notes in the margins, records, faded film posters, open windows that let in a warm breeze and the smell of wet pavement and sound of distant voices. music: old jazz, Beirut

On the other: What informs my art the most: some mix of 1920s era avant-garde, eg constructivism, all dynamic and hard edges, black/red/white palettes. This video is a little cheesy but it's a good example ie the art, the sharp suits and extra eyeliner, etc (and anyways, it's one of my favorite bands). See also: Metropolis, and this.

But also I love the idea of deep sultry jungles, as beautiful as they are deadly; lush emerald green leaves and exotic flowers but also decay and bones and sharp flashing teeth, wild beasts and carnivorous plants. Inspired heavily by this album which I love dearly.

And then here on FR I have this dry desert thing, bleached bones and whipping dust storms, and all of it interwoven with strange religions, political intrigue, and war.

That's a lot but yeah I love moodboards and things
