I hung out with my friends after not seeing them for a longish time and we all had a great time. Got lunch and I got a fit of giggles halfway through and was pretty much crying laughing at everything that we talked about. (I had had a panic attack for a very silly reason earlier in the day and all the positive interaction really helped)

So glad your stressful moment ended up turning into a good one! It's always so good to remember the positive things that happen in life, especially on the hardest days. Thank you for sharing this post!

I myself have had a rough past 3 weeks. I've never really gotten along with my parents, but my father has been especially degrading lately, humiliating me in front of everyone, telling me I can't do anything, threatening to take me to a foster home, telling me that he thinks my mental issues are fake. I do ignore him mostly, but it still takes a toll sometimes, especially since I never really get the chance to hang out with anyone who I enjoy being around. I just try to remember that life is so rare and it's pretty cool to be conscious. Positive things that have happened lately... I've kept up with my homework well for once, and my teachers have praised me for it because they know how awful I am at that. Also have been talking a lot easier, my voice is odd and sometimes I have to pause before I say something because.. I just do.. and that hasn't happened much lately. Both nice things.

@Ooh aa i'm so sorry your dad has been like that! i know how one rude statement from anybody can really drag you down, even if you don't know them. i hope your relation improves! i've found that if i'm angry it helps to scribble down what i'm mad about and then tear it up (or delete it if you type it) so that can help if you're upset over something that was said. i believe everyone is special and made for a purpose and i'm sure that you're a great person!

and that's great!! i was horrible at keeping up with work in middle school but once i picked myself up last year when high school started the free hours just felt so much better. sometimes when i talk i'll mess up and kinda shut off for a moment, though it doesn't happen too often. one of my friends has a bit of a broken speech pattern but he's still understandable- we're all different and that's okay!

at first i honestly didn't think i'd end up responding to people on this thread but it just feels nicer to interact, yknow?

@spaceyfeather Thank you for the kind words! It's really less anger and more just feeling miserable. I have no desire to connect with my family any longer, so thats no issue, I think it's mostly because that's all I hear from other people for the most part. Like I said, I don't really get the chance to talk to people I enjoy being around, so all I hear is how useless I am and how when i leave in 2 years that I'm never welcome back. Thanks again! I believe I have made a purpose for myself as well, so that does drive me :)

And honestly I was a lot better about my homework in middle school surprisingly haha. High school has been rough on me because of that :p barely maintaining a 3.0 gpa because sophomore me was dumb. And I don't think I have a speech problem really, it's probably the fact that I don't speak very long very often, so when I do speak long I need to think a little bit. Nobody seems to mind but I'm always glad when I talk at a more normal pace. And interacting is totally refreshing, I agree. Especially on forums. Easier to respond to people than when you're face to face.
