TOPIC | so. let's talk about crushes

I never believed I would ever have one because I'm not that romantic to the opposing gender lmao but guess what my first crush slipped through the rules and turned out to be platonic.

I'm seriously trying to find a way out of it before it destroys me totally---

Does anyone have any experience to share? :0

The only advice I would have to offer is either, bring up the fact of the crush to the person. Or just attempt to find things to distract yourself from the crush. (Sorry i'm so bad at advice.)

I failed miserably with trying to get out of a crush. It kinda got worse after I stopped talking to him. Even now I still have a fairly large crush on him.

All I can say is try to understand why you like them. It will probably help you root it out. Maybe after that you can find reasons not to like them. Good luck!

Oh man crushes are haaaaaaaard. I'd say you either go talk to the person (if you actually want to transform it into a realtionship maybe?) or just try and distract yourself in any way so you forget about it /shrug/

I managed to get to the point of just talking to my crush of three years, but that honestly was enough for me cause I knew I wouldn't have a chance with him so ;^;
Good luck though!

Hello LGBT Community
hah.
I have had crushes almost continuously for the last 5+ years. At one point I had a crush on three people at the same time, that was fun. And I basically always get crushes on friends, so. I interact with them a lot.

What I've usually done is let them run their course. Since I seem to always fall for friends, I usually end up telling them. But I'd rather keep a friendship and wrangle some inconvenient emotions for a while than limit contact to try to make the feelings go away, so I make it clear I won't change my behaviour towards them and only want them to know for my own peace of mind. So far it has turned out alright; two friends did not return my feelings but were ok with it and one actully did like me back. That ended after a few months for reasons I won't get into, but it was worth it. All unrequited feelings have faded with time, though one crush lasted like. Four years. So you may be stuck with this stuff for a while, I'm afraid :/ but then again, maybe not.

If you feel confident, maybe tell them about how you feel? I'm not good with advice for this kind of stuff lol, due to the fact I almost have never told my crushes I liked them (minus two) because I just accepted the fact that I would get rejected. But go for it totally!!! Might as well try right?

I had a crush, turned into something more, he became my fiance, and then he left. It's up to you to take a chance but I say it's worth trying for even if it doesn't work out.

Honestly, just be their friend for a while. Crushes fade easily, but friendship sticks with you. Besides, it's hard to know how you genuinely feel about someone until you know them well. And there's the whole personality conflict thing. You'll know from a friendship if you can handle really being around someone for a long time. The friendzone is a pretty good place to be, all things considered. Romance can get your heart broken but it never hurts to have a friend.
