TOPIC | Parody Songs about TV show/movies/etc
To set the scene:

I was driving my car, flicking channels to find some good music when I suddenly heard, "...There's Klingons on the starboard bow, starboard bow, Jim." Transfixed by this strange yet hilarious song, I ended up listening to the end of it, and once I got to where I was going I looked it it.

It was called: Star Trekkin' by The Firm, and it's a parody song of Star Trek.

It reminded me of another song, this one parodying Doctor Who: Doctorin' The TARDIS by The Timelords.

So, I was wondering if anyone knows any other funny parody songs about TV shows/movies/etc?

@Violetah

A bit better.

Its in finish, but songs name roughly translates into Klamydia sucks. Klamydia is a punk band from western Finland.

And it's done by Klamydia.

So it's parody song about the band itself. It was kinda funny.

Props to Starbomb for the infamous “It’s Dangerous to Go Alone, Take This”, a real jam. Also on their hit list are “Crasher-Vania”, “Smash!” and “Regretroid”. They’re all kind of dirty, so expect that.

There’s also Joe Pleiman’s “Link, He Come to Town”. I even put that one in my Link fanderg’s bio!

Weird Al has done a couple of movie-themed spoofs of popular songs. He remade Don McLean's "American Pie" as a song called "The Saga Begins" which documents the events of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. I do believe that this one was made while the film was still in theatres.

He also did a spoof of Billy Joel's "Piano Man" called "Ode to a Superhero" that documented the events of the first Sam Raimi Spider-Man movie. Not sure if this one was made while that film was in theatres.

There is a band called Chameleon Circuit that does entirely Doctor Who-themed songs. Not so much parodies, though, as homages.

The entire genre of "wrock" (wizard rock) as in, Harry Potter themed rock music, could I guess be seen as parodies of Harry Potter, but I've never listened to any of it.

Hey, friendly reminder to drink water, stretch, and take a short break if you can. Stay healthy! Also, don't forget about any chores or tasks you might be putting off.

[/quote] I freaking love Chameleon Circuit. They've got a few really stupid songs but for the most part their stuff is amazingly well-written and well-performed. Their song "The Sound of Drums" has been a top favorite of mine for years, it's just so beautiful. <3

Legs Nose Robinson also does Doctor Who songs, including expansions of parodies in the show itself (mainly "Hey Missy").

I've found a couple of really good Firefly songs. Bedlam Bards has a bunch of good ones, both serious ("On the Drift", "Sail the Sky") and funny ("The Ballad of Joss", "Big Damn Trilogy"). Vixy and Tony have "Mal's Song", Eben Brooks has "The Man Dressed in Brown", and Seanan McGuire has "Evil Laugh".

Actually I listen to a lot of fannish songs, but these are some good ones I can remember off the top of my head.

I think I've heard of “It’s Dangerous to Go Alone, Take This” before, but I've never actually listened to it. Are all those songs about Legend of Zelda?

@lamarqueisdead & @Hawktalon
I love the Weird Al parodies. Particularly the Michel Jackson ones. It's quite impressive how he comes up with them.

Chameleon Circuit, that's a name I haven't heard in a long time. I remember hearing about them ages ago, but thank you for reminding me they exist. I still need to listen to them, can't really call myself a Doctor Who fan if I don't :P

@browncoatparadox
Cool. I'll go listen to them too when I get the time :)

Only “Dangerous to Go Alone” and “Link, He Come To Town” are about Zelda. The rest are about other video games, such as Castlevania, Super Smash bros., and Metroid.
