I saw a thread about bosses that were easy, but what about ones that were actually difficult and made you die?
I'll name a few myself that were difficult.
Miraak from Skyrim's Dragonborn DLC is far more difficult than Alduin was. Had I not spent so much time before the it came out making my weapons very strong, I was more than likely going to die.
(Primal) Dialga in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky, I know, was a very difficult fight that gave others issues. Particularly if you weren't at a high enough level, it was a matter of praying that you had enough Reviver Seeds and Roar of Time was used as few times as possible.
I remember the first time I played through an old game called Valkyria Chronicles, and the last boss fight was brutal if you didn't know what you were doing.

[size=2]I don't know what it is about that freakin' Lurantis in Pokemon SM/USUM, but she is WAYYYY over powered. Even with a fire type pokemon. The first time I played through it took me like 10-15 tries to beat it.
I think I eventually said screw it and used a pokemon from my pokemon bank :T
I unfortunately can't think of any others..

I'll admit that I over-leveled for Sun/Moon. As in, I had a Toucannon at that point. Beak Blast (was that the name?) worked well, at least.

When I first started the Dark Souls series and decided I wanted Ornstein's armor, so I had to kill Smough first and Ornstein last, which was significantly harder than the other way around. I wanted to cry that day and maybe explode my Xbox. Might have an easier time now that I've played through the full series and more experienced, but I still have very very painful memories of that ;-;
Throwing Sans and Jevil here too.
Also the Queen Bee from Cuphead oddly gave me a lot of trouble, more than any other boss.
The boss I fight the most is the easiest (I can usually kill it in one eliminate) and he arises in Boreal Wood

Whitney's Miltank in HeartGold/SoulSilver. Honestly maybe it was easy for others but that freaking pink cow CRUSHED me multiple times it was soooo difficult for me
I agree with Miraak, I just recently played the DLC for the first time on my Switch and boy, did he give me a run for my money. I was sooo annoyed when he absorbed dragon souls to heal and then I didn't even get the satisfaction of killing him cause Hermaeus Mora murdered him anyways

Darkrai in PMD: Explorers of Sky because of one single thing: Cresselia.
She can't take hits, her attack strength is practically nothing, and she's usually KO'd within the first 5 turns. Plus she just burns through whatever berries, revive seeds and other healing items in your bag, so good luck if anyone else is gonna need those. Also, if she faints then you have to start the whole dungeon all over again, which is 30 floors long! Also also you don't get any of your items back and hardly any money to replenish your stock! Who thought of making her so weak anyway when its supposed to be the final level???
(Ironically, Darkrai himself wasn't all that bad. Just gotta act fast so you don't get overpowered, but after you get the henchmen out of the way then he goes down pretty fast)
